Are you planning to insulate ?

i was going to but i have been told not to because of the summer it seems to keep the right temp at the moment! the lights give off alot of heat!
vek
hi have you got extraction ? ...nice shed
arai
can anyone else see your shed ?

just wondering as when you open your door, you'll have your own light show 34.gif
unless your going to be putting in a partion ?

as for not using insulation, just watch out if it snows were ever you are,
but if it does, your shed wont have any on its roof whistling.gif
it'll have steam coming of it with those 2 digi hids. lol.gif
vek
i have i garden shed and in full sun the roof gets so hot the tar sheet is hot to the tuch,,i imagine with lights on thats a lot of heat to get rid of...........

No get pucker extraction as soon as you can.

Extraction means bigger buds, And bigger buds mean lots of tastey smoke for yourself smile.gif

Also, 40 plants will smell like a bitch, And if your anything like me youll wait untill like 2-3 weeks after there smelling bad before you get extractor and filter. And thats pretty much a death sentence :O

What lights you got in there?

great decision and great shed, but seriously dude, get yourself a partition built and some fans in there. Stealth is the most important thing you need to utilise and having a glowing, stinky shed isn't that stealthy smoke.gif . Unless you want to get caught... whistling.gif

Exactly, A few more days work and youll have a very safe growing area. And a better one for your plants. Itll still be done by the time your seeds are ready for proper lights.

And Insulation is a must with sheds to be honest mate. Im a shed grow to and without insulation it is freezing at around 1-2am.

Just do it properly, Its a hassel but its not as much hassel as explaining 40 plants for personale use after you just been raided at 3am.

Reflective insulation such as the double sided bubble wrap stuff work to keep temperatures stable in the winter or summer. So in the middle of summer when that black roof is soaking up the sun and set to turn your shed into a sauna the heat transfer is reduced by the insulation and you have a better chance of controlling the temps inside. IMHO anyway. A large DIY store did a buy 1 get 1 free on the bubble stuff, its not quite mylar but pretty reflective.

PS Nice Shed!

Hey dude, do u wanna lose the lot and end up wiv nowt? No-ones mentioned the humidity that will inevitablly build up with no extraction - u will get mold and fuk it all up for the sake of a few quid on extraction. Dont worry about the smell - all u will get is a fine and lose all your investment if u get caught - but the humidity and high temps will seriously deplete/decimate ur crop. And dont forget the cold during lights out - the money u spend on extraction and insualtion will by far be smaller than the cost of heating and lost yield u will suffer.
And if u need to do 30 plants instead of 40 so u can create a small internal "porch" to prevent light-shows then so be it - better than losing the lot to one of ur neighbours - if u lived next door to me and i saw the light i wouldnt grass u up but i would take the lot from you, lol.gif. In fact I would tell u i knew what u were doin and blackmail u into giving me 25% each crop. How about that 4 a deal - better than BOGOF any day in my book. Ha Ha.

Nice size room you have there bubba, have you tested the lights at knight? You will probably have light coming out of your walls ph34r.gif .

I use my shed a lot and I must tell you it is very hot in the summer and very cold in winter, some insulation will do you good and save you ££.

So true for a shed grow. I would recomend using some block out sheeting to stop the light getting in and getting out. Sheds tend not to be completely water tight and will light up like a christmas tree at night with the grow lights on. From outside you will see all of the light leaks.

Also the comment about a partition is a good idea so when you go in the shed there is no immediate sign of the plants. Plus when you open the door at night with the lights on there will not be a flood of orange or white light pouring out from the shed. Too suss for words.

Ventilation with a carbon filter has been mentioned lots of sound suggestions here, good advice.

thats a lot of plants with not much light i run 8 under 1000 watt bulbs and get not far off 1g per watt 3 weeks veg under full light and 6-8 weeks under propagation lamps. 40 plants in a shed with no insulation and no extraction will smell down the road at pc plonks house, even carbon filters let some smell out and wood will a bit also, get some loft insulation and some plasterboards and do it right first time even if you need to wait and save get a 200mm fan and filter if your shades are not air cooled, if they are a 150l1 will do and a 125mm inlet and a oil filled rad.
