Alright everyone thourght weed! better introduce ourselves and see if we could get some answers for some of our novice questions!!
we're new growers just about to start in about 4 weeks time. We have just got ourselves a 400w grow light, with dual spectrum grolux lamp. And we're hoping to grow some Northen lights from femaleseeds.nl

We have two questions we'ed like to ask if any one out there can inpart some knowlage it will be greatfully recived. We dont wanna cock up our first crop!!!!

1,How long is the vegataive stage for this strain from planting the seed to inducing flowering?(i dont want to force flowering to early/late)

2,what kind of width our we looking at for this strain?(dont want to cram too many togther.growing in a empty airing cupboard)

Hope these questions arn't to stupid
Thanks

to answer your question about the veg period, it takes around 4-6 weeks (sometime longer) for the plant to show preflowers so that you can determine sex.
as for the amount of plants you can get in your cupboard, i am unsure, you can pack lots in there and try a sog or just a couple and do a scrog.
have you got everything else as well? like vent fans and osci fan, nutes, medium ?
Best of luck and welcome aboard

glad to hear you have eveything you need for your setup!
have a look in my diary, the skunk#11 & lowryder in my sig line, that was my first ever grow, its just finished, i have a 400w hps and i only had 2 4ft plants under it and 4 2ft plants on a raised platform,
if you want to start around the 20tth of this month there is a joint grow taking place, i think there is around 22 people all signed up to grow hashberry, its a very popular strain at the moment from mandala, you'd be more than welcome to join in and learn, thats the point of it, to share information, heres the link

hello mr and mrs x

lovely to have another couple on board .. mr and mr mom are also married

we have a grow drobe that comfortably holds 3 plants at full size .. we tend to veg untill they show preflowers on the 6/7 internode (this is when the stems come out at right angles from eachother) then bin the boys and flower the girls. i should say 3 plants for a standard airing cupboard is fine

hello and welcome mr and mrs X!

veg can be for as long or as short as you like. certain techniques will actually set veg time back a while (supercropping) but offset the longer veg time required with bigger yields.

a friend and i both have very similar sized grows but, while he chooses to have 12-15 plants, i only have 4. i vegged my plants for about 3 weeks longer than him and they were certainly bigger when going into flower. that suited me better than lots of smaller plants as i only intend to do the odd grow/harvest whereas he has a perpetual grow/harvest thing going on.

i have 2 strains which grow at different rates but, through a bit of training (bending and tying limbs to create a bushy effect), supercropping and some alternative lighting angles i am still getting away with it. Growing from seed rather than clones will mean that you may need to consider some of these techniques yourselves. you will probably get different rates of growth and will have to try and account for this too. another option is to just put empty pots under the plants to raise or lower them accordingly.

good luck with the grow though, and welcome aboard!

very quick, usually the following day in my experience.

welcome aboard Mr n Mrs X thumbsup.gif I think it's worth waiting for pre-flowers to show before you flower, and I also think its worth potting up as you go (ie: small pots, then repot when its necessary) but otherwise you have your answers - hope to see a grow diary soon smile.gif

Hi there, and Welcome,

Check out a few of my grow diaries. I utillise 400w HID lighting, so you might find something of relevance and interest contained within.
