yes thats all i ever do large or small cubes.be carefull if you buy everythink wich is said to be good for your plants you would spend a fortune.just get some good nutes and if you wont to do wot you said just make a very week nute mix up for soakig your cubes.good luck yinyang.gif

All I do is soak my rockwool cubes in PH5.5(i think) water for 24hrs before using them,u can get away with a couple of hours but 24 is best.I know your supposed to use a low PH for soaking to balance them out then when u have transplanted your cube you can start your nutrient sollution.I think its just a matter of choice if u soak them in plain water or a week nute sollution

Just to take this a step further, how weak should the nute solution be ? Would a solution with 1.0EC do the business ?

I am happy with 1.2-1.4 as starters moving quickly upto 1.6. my ph starts at 5.2 and move to 5.4 and higher when in flowering.

I noticed that if you do not nute your young ones, they will turn lighter and possibly stretch more without nutes. Another problem with low nute young ones is that they may have other problems later when they are trying to absorb masses of nutrients but do not have the strong cell structure, due to low nutes in the early growing phases. anyone agree or disagree.. or think i am talking out of my arse rofl.gif

I also always add a root tonic and good bacteria (like trichodema from canna or funky fungi from BAC).

Most indicas can take a higher ec then sativas or others.
