Hello everyone,

Ive got 8 little NL(Oasis) plants growing in a 1.4m x 0.9m growroom, 400w HPS, Extractor Fan and a NFT400 growtank using rockwool as the medium but im lacking a little headroom so the light is just over 3ft above them with not any room to move up, should they get far.
So im considering trying out SCROG, think it could be a little ambitious for my first grow though. If i've only got that amount of room then at what height should the screen be fitted at and how big should the plant then be before starting 12/12?
Plants are about 1.5 - 2inches tall just now with quite big leaves on them, Temps at 76 - 78F but Humidity is Very Low at 20. I have tried putting water in the growroom using various methods but it doesn't make any difference the Humidity stays the same, the air being drawn in to the room has got a Humidity of 70-80 mostly. Is my only option left to spray the plants regularly or is there a lazier way to do it?
The plants do look quite dry which worries me a lot.
Just had a thought, everything is on for 24hrs if i changed to 18/6 would this raise humidity.

Can Anyone Help. huh.gif

Hi, im no expert but i think 18/6 would help and save you leccy smile.gif

You need more height or you need a scrog.....

One or the other.....

Are your plants seedlings...? Are they feminised? If not, scrog can be a nightmare trying to remove the males.......

Give us more info....seedlings or cuttings......

Changed to 18/6 and the Humidity is at 70 with the lights off but returns to 20 during lights on, hope the regular change in Humidity does't harm them.
Mono, they are grown from feminised seeds and have 3 sets of leaves on them at about 2inches tall. Some leaves have got spots of yellow on them, read somewhere that this could be due to too much nutrients but they are only in quarter strength nutrient solution, any idea?

Numpty grower needs large amounts of advice and guidance which will be much appreciated.

If this is your first grow then I would leave scrog alone.
Get to know the plant before scrogging.
You have chosen an excellent to kick off with.
Oasis is a great plant to grow. Very uniform in height and easy to cultivate.
It's also a great smoke.

You don't need to do a scrog with Oasis with the amount of headroom that you have. Oasis does not get really out of hand when it stretches....about double the height. There will always be one or two that will go over double but you can bend/train them to keep them away from the light if they look like they are getting too hot.
It looks like height is an issue within your grow space.......

The profile of your hydro system reflects you lack of headroom.
Your daytime humidity is very low and that may be the reason for the dried out condition of the leaves. A switch to 18/6 may well help your situation.....It can't hurt.
If you are down to 20% humidity during lights on then the occasional misting is only going to help. It may not be possible for you to do this during the day (work) but if you can put wet towels or buckets of water it should improve the situation, especially if you have a fan blowing over the full buckets. Space permitting.....

At a rough guess I would go 12/12 at a foot high and they should finish within a reasonable distance from your light.
Otherwise I am a soil grower.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice.

Looks like its just the 2 bottom leaves that are affected by the yellowing, newer leaves look much healthier.

Xmas wishes to all.
