I've not long been a member of 420, but in that short time I've learned a hell of a lot (thanks UK420 !
I'm really struggling over strain choice. I currently have DP Euforia, though not overly impressed so far; a naff 'so-called Pot of Gold' that aint the best pheno I've ever seen
As far as I know thats a hybrid, an indica and a sativa
I'm looking to buy some new beans for 2007, maybe moving away from Feminised seeds and poss even dutch genetics. I've read a few posts about the various interesting new genetics on the block, and a bit about med qualities of various strains. I guess the problem is there is too much information. At the end of the day I'm just a noob and I could really do with relying on others experience.
Maybe if I list what I'm looking for in the new strains someone can offer some suggestions?
All my plants are grown in compost mixes with an emphasis on achieving organic, just never actually making it yet. I use 600Whps grolux lighting for flowering and 200W envirolight blue for vegging and propagation. I have plenty of space for bonsai mums and seedlings, but my flowering space needs to be used effectively (high yield strains not mandatory, but low yield strains are not what I'm after). I also dont have a lot of height. Basically 16 week 16 foot monster plants are totally out of the question at the moment, no matter how good the medicinal quality.
What I'm looking for is:
- strains good for controlling lunacy, of the bipolar type. Manic highs, depressive lows, need something for both (not necessarily in one strain).
- Anything with the kind of wallop to even dent the ol' lower lumbar pain
- Strains of medicinal use and of particular culinary value, pleasant taste, aroma, etc (e.g. I find the PoG quite 'spicy' and therefore quite tasty used in a savoury oil, for salads, pasta etc)
- Suitable medicinal strains for the 'Elders', things that wont rock their world, but might help such conditions as gout and arthritis
Im looking for 'keepers' and maybe stuff with good, stable (noob) breeding potential. building block type strains (no sk#1 please, been there, done that, can get it any time). Also strains that arent b*stards to grow would be helpful.
Cheers for any advice u ladies n gents might have for me, cos I'm itching to get something new and properly identified on the go
