I've been busy building my new grow room.....
Time after time i have been stuck with various problems, heat, humidity, space, ventilation, hard water, tacky DIY jobs, yada yada...
I'm totally sick and tired of it, so i have decided to stop messing around and do things properly!
I have built a whole new growroom, which goes floor to ceiling and has a fresh air intake, hopefully stopping high temp problems that have plagued my previous grows.
It was built from 50mm timber and 3mm hardboard. This was my first attempt at proper joining, and it went quite well! My fave part is the door, which i made from a wood frame and brackets, and then covered in hardboard. i have overlapped 3 of the sides to minimise light leakage. And i managed to hang it perfectly!
Inside will go my Digital 600w HPS, with a GT100 NFT tank used with RO water on the lucas regime (GH nutes)
This will be topped up via a stopcock system connected to a water butt, holding 1/3rd strength nutrients, allowing res changes to be as far apart as possible!
Intake is a 125mm L Ruck on thermostatic controller, Exhaust is a huge 250mm inline fan (1100m3 ph) on standard fan controller.
Also connected to this room is my Veg room, which is a 400w MH on a cool tube. This room will be used for mothers and cuttings. The intake comes from the flowering room, which i'm hoping will be ok. If problems arise(temps, stale air, too much negative pressure in flowering room), i will just run ducting round to the window and give the veg room a fresh air intake too!
At the moment i'm sealing all the joins to make the room totally sealed, then i will paint the outside and reattatch skirting board, to make it seem a lot less conspicuous.
Then i will seal the floor with floor secure, sheet the walls with mylar, Hang the 600w on EZ rollers and add the NFT system. I want to fully test the room before i add plants to it, get the temps to the optimum and make sure i won't screw anything up!
