Hi and first of all sorry for the wonky pictures! How the f**k do i rotate the photos!??Anyone!??

Anyway to prove im not lying here i am posting sum pictures of my prototype Veg unit!It is made from white melamine fits nice and snug to the wall, has a 250w groking CFL, digi temp control 100mm RVK and Phat Filter,a fan for circulation!

At the top we have a selflit prop for clones, and as i have made it shallow(for ease of movement)but i have lost space i will try Bonsai mums in small pots and trim the roots etc!

The unit is not finished, but its doing its job at the mo,it has passive air intake holes at the bottom and the fan/filter combo kicks out the top right of unit, very little noise!

After i have built my proper flower room which is a brick built shed,i am going to make another one of these but with mabye a shelf making 2 flower rooms,so i can crop near enough every month, and will never be out of unadulterated FP bud!

Thanks for reading this!

FP

So wot do you think people!?????

That's a great looking Drobe frankie thumbsup.gif

I notice you have your Enviro vertically mounted - how do you find the temperature of the ballast with the light directly below it?

If you're using windows xp there should be an option to rotate the images before you import them from your camera or you can do it in the windows picture viewer. Sweet drobe!

looking good m8, how do you get your plants to stay on the wall?

wink.gif I havent got a IR temp gun but its not to bad, i set the controller to 24 and the highest temp has been
25,i reckon if i used a 200 w i might have had a bit more control, but i read sumwhere hanging the lamp is quite efficient!?

Thanks

Very interesting. Do you really need a carbon filter for a vegging room? I thought you only needed that for flowering.

High frankiepowers - Ive taken pics like that but I was actually horizontal at the time stoned.gif lol.gif
The program you use to stick your pics on your PC will/should have a facility to 'straighten' them clockwise or anticlockwise before you send them.

I think Church was talking about the heat generated rising directely to the built in ballast at the base of the lamp cos that will get hot! taz.gif

Looks good though thumbsup.gif

I think i got it!??Anyway this is the flower room im building, there will be 2/3 600w in there mabye 2 cos it aint cheap!

Obviously the paint pots etc will be gone black/white floor to ceiling,ADF and rockwool insulation,10 inch fan out 6 inch in,will also build a detox room/porch!

Should i run lights at night like i normally do?

And any ideas?

Will be using the 11ltr pots on NFT tray for run to waste, coco and clay pebbles, wanted a dripper system but there will be 5/6 strains in there!???

Cant help myself!

Peace and thanks in advance!

FP

Its underway now!

The 125W ones are fine (I've had one vertical for 18 months). I wouldn't want to try it with a 200W self-ballasting one though wink1.gif

To those going on about loss of light without a reflector - the opposite is in fact true.

wink.gif This is what i was thinking,i understand it is the most efficient way to hang a lamp vertical, how i know not as i would have thought a reflecter would be better?

But granted about the ballast,i see what you mean and it is a 250w lamp,i have done acid(touch) tests and its warm but not really hot!???

I have seen many grow rooms which hang there HID lamps this way,but obviously the ballast is either on a board or on a shelf!??

Any more ideas?

Thanks

Yes I've seen some superb 400/600W vertical grows, no reflector and one fan at the bottom to blow the heat upwards. People who had no end of problems with heat found that the problems disappeared pretty rapidly. Yields were pretty damn good too. I'd do it but I don't have the floor space to make it work well

If you can I would mount the enviro the other way around. Screw the E40 lampholder into some sort of wooden base so the heat rises away from the ballast. A little wooden box as a base would be ideal as if necessary you could put it on top of something else to raise the lamp if necessary.

I'm 100% sure your ballast on the enviro will be OK at this time of year but you should plan now for summer heat. I try to do this but some problem always appears in summer sad.gif

wink.gif I also have a fan trained on it at the mo!

Thanks
