one thing i would say .....
would be get the lamp nearer to the plants




or make a shelf nearer the lamp
edit ....and best hang the lamp horizontal with a reflector....as heat rises and may damage the inbuilt ballast

Thought that and have dropped it proper close,the poxy spunrock cubes do tend to dry out pretty rapid though,i have lost babys that way before!

Am also thinking of banging a reflector on to do away with this unknown problem(to me)!

Are we sure there is no advantges of hanging a lamp this way?????

not tried it as i use a reflector
but i think if you want to use one vertically..........best off using it upright(ballast on the base)

I just had to hang a lead up here frankie and I just lent it over a vent in the cupboard and held it up with a bottle.... will do for a night!

if you not got a reflector you want to be hanging your light side ways on so you got more surface area of bulb for your babies to get to....also get em lower you be much better at 3"

Oh well worth a try!Shall sort out a relector,and also put on sum EZ rollers!
