Hi people,
I'm finally getting round to posting my drobe pics but first i want to say big thanks to "church" for inspiration and to "Chrystalfarmer" for help and advice and to everybody else who helped . notworthy.gif

Anyway, this all started back in the summer of 2006 when i got landed with a 600 hps from a local growshop who convinced me i wouldn't have any heat problems rofl.gif, well of course i did and thus the research, nightmares and miles of duct tape began.

Being an old school allotment grower this was my first time under lights so it took some serious getting used to and i did the same thing i'm sure many others have done and tried to come up with crack pot ideas that all failed until i finally got it right... just in time for the Heatwave! Since then i have tweaked it a bit and also added a seperate veg cupboard, so now the 600w is my flower room.

[attachmentid=103119]:flower room= S&P td500/150 extraction, supernova reflector (had to cut an extra hole as was out take only) sealed with silicone & 4mm toughened glass, 900m3 Phat carbon filter, 5x passive intake (for emergencies). S&P 250/100 for intake (at the moment this pulls cool air through the veg cupboard from window but can also by pass veg cupboard and pull just from window in extreme heat).
[attachmentid=103122]
watt tyler
[attachmentid=103130]:the veg cupboard = S&P td250/100 extraction, 125w blue CFL & 125w purple CFL

[attachmentid=103131]

[attachmentid=103132]: Flower and veg together

This set up has been tested in the hot and cold weather and works a dream, i may add fan speed control and thermostat for that extra bit on control at a later date.

Anyway, thanks again people and i may do a belated grow diary next (although i'm half way through a grow at the moment) and show you me little girls.

Peace yinyang.gif

Thanks mate, I'm pretty chuffed with it myself although i owe everything to "church" as i just took his design to the extreme and just through plain stubberness was determined to cool 600w. I learned a lot and nearly had a break down ont the way rofl.gif !

Well sorted now though Tyler.What are you gonna be growing strainwise if you have'nt already started? yinyang.gif

Yeah, who needs therapy when i get so much back from this. I feel a sense of achievement after all my hard work, i have something to think positive about every day, something to look forward to, a herbal remedy that has helped me far more than any mind supressing medication they have put me on, my own bit of sunshine and i'm not lining the pockets of scumbags! It should be available on the NHS rofl.gif

Looking good mate !

What is the noise like from it ?
I am thinking of doing a drobe but i would need to have it in my bedroom
And i am a bit worried of not being able to get to sleep with the noise from the fans

The S&P td mixvent fans are really quiet compared to RVK's, I put a peice of foam paper behind the screw on bracket (just encase of vibration but there isn't any really) and then just screwed them to the drobe inside. My PC is in the same room and is louder!

S&P also supply a variable speed control for them which would reduce noise further, don't use the dimmer or ceiling type (not those B&Q ones or other live interupt type) though as these cause damage to the fan and resist voltage to the motor causing buzzing or worse.

No problem mate, glad I could be of some help to you. guitar.gif

I haven't seen a doctor for about 8 years, the last 2 times I went I asked for anti-depressants and I got fobbed off. I would probably be dead now if it wasn't for Cannabis, it is a great medicine.
Best wishes yinyang.gif

600w in a Drobe - dude, you have turbocharged the Drobe!!! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

How are you keeping temperatures down? What sort of temperatures do you run at (in Centigrade please cos I can't understand fahrenheit lol.gif ) ?

Hi

Mate, nice job, given me hope; I'm in the blue-print stage of building a 600w wardrobe but its twice the size of yours, so there is hope for temp control yet. smile.gif

Funnily enough just been to ikea and bought two of the wardrobes your using as a flower room to go infront of the walk in wardrobe and hide it (and for the wifes clothes that she kindly cleared out for me.). smoke.gif

I may go back to the drawing board and see if I can fit a veg room in as well. wink.gif

Good luck with the rest of grow buddy, looking good from here. biggrin.gif

Just wanted to say that looks like a great setup you have there. And I know your feeling about getting the temp right with a 600w in a small space. My space is a little smaller than yours by the looks of it, but I have finally got it sorted......Pretty much. (I brought my gear in 03) rolleyes.gif whistling.gif

Well done mate

Thanks Church but 'tis me who is notworthy.gif you saved me from the "yeah i can do it for a tenner with bathroom extraction" syndrome and have been a big inspiration, also i have much respect for fellow medi users wheelchair.gif , i hope you are well and your back is not giving you too much jip.

My temps are good, the air cooled reflector makes all the difference, it's a supernova. The one i've got is the 4" outake only so i just cut an intake and slotted a 100mm>150mm reducer in each end which in turn connects to my 150mm ducting and sealed the whole thing with silicone (supernova now do a 150mm one with both intake and outtake doh.gif ), also siliconed in the glass and rubber sealed the frame.
I also bought a 900m3 filter so i was sure it was capable of pulling more air than my 500m3 extraction with out any resistance and fitted this horizontally so it pulls air in from its entire length.

So the extraction pulls warm air from top of cab through filter, through reflector and straight out the window at such a rate you can touch the glass and plants can comfortably sit 1-2" from it.

My temps in the summer were: Max 29c Min 24c (lights on. it do go to 32c Max during the heatwave though but i can live with that) and 22c (lights off).

My present temps are: Max 26c Min 22c (lights on) and Max 21c Min 17c (lights off)

Anyway, thanks again mate,
Take care
yinyang.gif

My veg cupboard stays at a near enough constant 21c (lights on) and 19c (lights off)

600W in that space with the temperature under control during summer is top notch. It really is applause.gif

i'm usin a cool tube (150mm) with a 1254rvk and filter.
i run cooltube inline between filter and fan. i'm using passive intake at moment but have a good quality bathroom extractor to use as intake fan if needed.
now the winter is nearly here, I got perfect temps, 19min-28max but when the weather was warmer earlier in the year i struggled with high temps, got up to 35 somedays.

i intend to get an extractor to run the cooltube separate from the filter system, hopefully that should sort the temp situation out for good wink.gif

fine looking set-up you got, i especially like the veg box.
need to construct something similar myself.

good work mate wink.gif

I hate to be a doubting Thomas, but surely your going to start seeing seriously diminished grams per watt in that small space.

I'm sure i've seen someone far cleverer then myself discuss the advantages of high lumens and found they were very minimal at best.

Still, that is some serious airflow you have there, props for getting it all to work. I had a nightmare cooling my loft, so spent alot of time getting into the science of airflow etc. its pretty much my first consideration now.

Excellent job Watt ...... fine piece of work ...... guitar.gif guitar.gif

I couldn't find any mention of your flower room dimensions .... but it looks to be at least 1m2 ... cool.gif

I doubt you'll see anything diminishing .... 34.gif

Good to see the other benefits to growing your own.... far far better than anything written on a prescription ... yinyang.gif

Thanks man, appreciated!

Flower room dimensions are 6'x3'x2' , the 600w is overkill but i got stuck with it and had to make the most of the situation. I know i've not got the room to make the most yield per watt but hey! it works and grows me a bit of percy and thats all i want, not trying to beat any f**king records!?! rofl.gif

Thanks for the kind words from everyone else as well.

I just noticed in the pic of your veg room it looks like the enviro's are hanging by the wires powering them, you might want to add some sort of support or at the very least have them hanging from the cables outer (white) insulation rather than the wires going to the terminals. Thats why plugs have that cable gripper inside as copper wire,especially multistrand wiring aint too strong. If the bulb is knocked or falls for some reason then you have exposed mains with possible shock/fire hazard.
