hi everyone
i just built a bubbler tub and it seems to be going good
but over the pass few days the ph and tds have stayed the same
and the water has droped a bit, it just seems like the plants are not eating
because if they where would the tds not go down and ph go up because the
plants are eating and the water level is droping slowly ??
the ph is at 5.8 to 6.0 and right now the tds is at 250 the plant are seedling about 3 weeks old
can anyone tell me if my bubbler is running right, and if my plants are eating food or just water
and if that is bad and how i could correct the problem or flush it and start over .. could it be nute lock out
or something i am new to hydro but have a few grows with soil under my belt
thanks for anyone
who can help

When your ec stays the same it means you have it about spot on
Its when it climbs or falls you need to look to adjust

hey Owderb
well that is kool but how do you know if the plant needs more food if the ec is staying the
same just by looking at it for sickness if not give it more
and how far should you let the water level go below the bottom of the net pots before toping up
2 or 3 inches or can you let it go more
wish i had pick to show
thanks
peace

Owderb is spot on. EC staying constant means the water usage is in proportion to the nutrients used. Keep watching your plants an the situation may well change slightly depending on the stage your plants are at. Vigourous growth may be accompanied by falling EC but what you need is consistancy.
My mothers are in DWC and they have to be topped up every 4 days when they have recovered from clones but every week will do during the flowering cycle and straight after taking cuttings. I have seen them with a nutrient level almost 6 inches below the net. They showed no bad effects from it. I set my EC at 1.4 and it remains fairly consistant. My point is that each stage of the plants life will make a difference to the nutrients used.
