Hi, I'm looking for a suitable strain for a new bud box I've made.

The box is only 1m in height and initially I thought that Lowryder would be the best because of it's height, finishing time and it's autoflowering too as a bonus.

However, since reading up on it, I've descovered that you cannot clone lowryder so I'm thinking it may not be as cost effective to buy seeds, grow them and throw the males out. I'd not get much bud for my buck.

What other strains are there that will grow compact and are cloneable?

Cheers, I'm learning so much. Will post pics of the new cabinet when my camera arrives.

most indica strains will be ok flowered small, you can always top them for a smaller bush.

Any specific strain? Don't most plant tend to be a mix of sativa and indica?

orange bud, big bud, superskunk, the hog most indica or 70/30 indica/sativa plants will be ok.

Lowryder would ok but there are better strains you could grow but if you went for Lowryder,as it's true breeding you could grow it and also produce some seeds for future generations. yinyang.gif

I think you can grow pretty much any strain you want... Tall boys can be trained... even with your height

Tie em down or use a net..

I think there are some much nicer strains than lowrider to grow...

hi mate ive got a tent and been playing around with diffrent plants, my last lot was orange bud and i thought it was to big really for tent.
this time i am growing mango 100% indica and its a nice short plant its perfect for tents. i would try to avoid sativa plants as they strech like hell
good luck

I'd try Northern Lights, I am having good success with my grow now consisting of California Orange bud and Northern lights. I topped and trained, they are over a month in veg and a little smaller then 1 foot. The NL seems bushy and very easy to clone.

Thanks ever so much for your recomendations! smoke.gif

After reading a good scrogging guide here on UK420, I'm definitely going to do a SCROG grow because of the limited amount of space I can play with.

I'll check the strains out in the seedbank that are mentioned in this thread and make a decision when the box is complete. I think I'll sow 6 seeds and find the female(s), then veg for 4 weeks. Then I'll do clones and when they have taken, top the fem(s) . I'll use these for the first SCROG.

Anyone else SCROG'd with the fore-amentioned strains in this thead?

Got my camera today. Here's a few shots of the SCROG BOX in progress.

Yep it's a tin cabinet!

It's lined with 4mm ply which I'm going to cover with thermal grow. The top shelf will hold the PSU that will power fans above and below the grow. It will also hold the suspended enviroiites vertically in reflectors.

Even comes with a little cloning room :-)

Grow will be organic in pots using BioBizz and westland with added JI + 40% perlite. I'm hand watering.

More soon...

Oh, and any tips or suggestions about the box too would be great!

Modded the PSU - works like a dream with 4 fans. wink1.gif

Just need another lamp in there are we're away!

Been offered some Blueberry to stick in it. This is 80% indica!

Think It will be suitable for the box?

Thanks again! Yet another update, I've been a busy chappy. 13.gif

Inspired by MU's bubblers thread and a bit of a push from Lawless regarding why I should bubble, I've changed my mind about soil, I'm gonna bubble!

I've sourced some black plastic 10ltr buckets, 3 quid each with lids and build myself a shallow water Culture system. Who the fuck says it's gotta be that deep - i'm limited for space! Buckets stand about 8 inch high!

[attachmentid=100092]

Got a nice dual pump and a few big fizzbombs and I'm gonna be bubbling this weekend, I can feel it in my bones. smoke.gif

Aquired 2 nice clones of Bubbleberry. Yep blueberry and bubblegum.

[attachmentid=100093]

Still going to use BioBizz. It says that you should feed 1m per ltr of grow. Should this be the same in the DWC bucket? I really need to get my pals ec and ph meter and monitor this plus temps a few days to make sure the setup is right before I put the clones in for SGROG.

Never done this before, I'm a muck man. Yep, done canna outside so all this is new to me. Ec, PH, what The FK! There are some great threads here on Uk420 about all this so I'll be doing a bit of revising in the next few days. Of course any constructive help on the way is very much welcome!

Infact I think I owe UK420 a grow diary now I'm up and running. unsure.gif Maybe there will be one on the way soon?

Enjoy the pics.
