things have chaged somewhat since my last post.

My pants are here , i changed my mind as to what i was putting in , i now have 5x Chronic and 5x BigBud

i have now added a couple of pc fans to the top of my nft tray , so it blows cool air over the canopy and to also strenghthen the stems.

things are looking ok , but im a little conserned about the heat in there, but thats another topic wink1.gif

hello mate, nice one on the set up.
having viewed your latest piccy's i feel something isn't right.the leaves have a defficiency/lockout(looks like nitrogen)
couple of questions...
did they have roots outside of the cube when they went into the nft?
do you have meters for ec and ph?if so,what is your readings?
what feed are you on?and at how much?

huh?

they did have a def about the 3-4h day i had em , that problem is sorted now so the remaining yellow on the plants is from that , since i didnt take off all the yellow leaves.

the plants to me look like they are thriving now and look 100x better than when i got them. they are taking up nutes and water like mad im feeding now about every 2 -3 days to an tds of 12-13 my ph is 5.9 and has never dropped or raised , humidity is about 40% and room temps are a steady 28-30 under 800w of hps

im feeding canna aqua vega a + b and they seem to love it. growing new leaves evey day. lights are on 18-6 atm ,

when i got the plants they was in a terrible state imo, just take a look at the first pictures i posted.

anothe rthing i should note is that i got these plants 8 days ago now from an unknown src as such being a friend of a friend of a friend if you get my meaning, so i dont exactly know how old they are all i know is i have had a dreadful week with these plants and that things are starting to look up now..

when you say you feel something is wrong, what makes you say this , is there something ive not spotted on these little hunnies?
SIS
some more pics for you , this is week 3 from getting the plants @ i think 1 week old

Hi bud,

Looking much better than the last pics, keep it up and you'll be smoking your hunnies in no time. smile.gif

Just one thing I did notice is that you have left the white plastic growdan wrap on your cubes, I always remove mine when they go in the tray to let the roots out, they burst out all over then place then, more roots has got to be better?

DrG

SIS
Hi Dr
thanx for the tip , i just asumed you left it on 34.gif

do you think its too late to remove it as there is no way now i can take out the cubes , the roots are strong and welded to the spreader mat i wouldnt wanna risk causing damage to the roots
hydroeuphoria
i always leave the plastic on the cubes, encourages the roots to grow down and out the bottom of cube, which seems to keep the bottom of the cube from sitting as heavily on the spreader mat and getting too moist but still allowing roots all the nutes they need.
A friend of mine puts drawing pins into the bottom of the cubes to keep the cube from soaking up too much moisture, and he gets no algae build up on top of cube whereas before he did, not sure if the algae does any harm but it looks better without i suppose.
they are looking very healthy by the way. keep your nft pump on 24/7 but just a light flow, not pouring out. I remember someone telling me if the flow fills a pint glass in about a minute thats about right.

surley the flow would depend on how much the plants needed it
hydroeuphoria
the whole idea with NFT is a thin film of nutrient, hence the lower flow, if you put the pump on full even the small 350l hour pumps will soak the nearest cubes too much if the water hits them directly.
If my pumps on full the channels that are pressed into the tray overflow at the top end of the tray, yours may be different.
