im having a bit of a spidermite prob too, stupidly bought an outside plant inside to finish and didnt even consider what could happen.... yeah, i know, im stupid. trying to keep on top of it by checking the leaves every hour or so and killing any of them that i can see. bought some Buzz Off today but i'm still not sure if ill be able to use it as they are two weeks into budding....

why the hell do these little bastards exist?!??

Though normaly I abhore violence, am a total pacifist and feel that there is no justification for war I have to make an exception where spidermites are concerned. They need to be fought with every weapon available to us. Chemical, biological and let not rule out the nuclear option either. When we do encounter these evil parasites they should be held without trial in secret bases in distant lands without recorse to legal representation or even basic rights. Torture is no problem at all as the folks on the front line need to be able to do their job. The Geneva convention should be treated as toilet paper where spider mites are concerned and it is only the implementation of these measures that will prevent them from launching further attacks on the canna home land !!!

I wouldnt use Nucidol (Diazinon).

Organophosphate-pesticides such as diazinon and dichlorvos (banned in UK) act basically as nerve-gas on human nervous-system. It has effect on female fertility and some effect on the developement of fetus.

Most of them will also accumulate in the food-chain and effect many species fertility and or behaviour. Including humans.

Well absorbed through skin and inhalation. I suppose the severe acute effect would be similar to too much meth, coffeine and PCP. Generally I suppose you're likely to experience twitchyness and mood swings,

lol.gif bit like from smoking pot but in a evil way..

QUOTE
Diazinon exhibits high acute toxicity to a wide variety of animals, leading to a wide range of sublethal biochemical effects, damage to specific target organs and tissues, cytotoxic and genotoxic effects, reproductive damage, and adverse ecological impacts. Its biological fate is complex, mediated largely by diverse metabolic mechanisms. Further research and monitoring are needed in a number of areas. For instance, it is important to develop a better understanding of the mechanism of diazinon's highly lethal effects on birds. Use restrictions at golf courses and sod farms are a welcome step, but there are still widespread avian exposures from orchards and lawns. Continued diazinon use at current rates also poses a clear threat to aquatic ecosystems and to important species such as salmon and bluegill sunfish.
