hi all at UK420,can anyone tell me y my bulb wich is (nealy)new has gone sooty? looks like inside,tryed to clean it!no joy y is this?and can it be cleaned?also will it restrict the lumenems shining onto plant?thanks all..........

Are ya sure its on the inside mate, I know that if ya get grease of your hands on the bulbs it can make them go like a smoked glass colour, thats if they don't pop cos of the moisture

I'm not sure mate, what I learnt years ago with all halogen and hot running bulbs is if you handle them the grease from your skin burns onto the glass.

You could try white spirits mate, and could also try one of them green brillo pad thingys, just be careful
