NickMe!!
I thought i'd share the excitment of my first hydro grow. The two im growing are a pair of clones from an Oasis plant. The tank still ain't been turned on yet, thought i'd leave it a while, let em grow some muscles before i start feedin' the steds!

The room is only lit by flouros, I didnt think id be able to grow pot that got you stoned so I just skimped on the lights just for the sake of a cheap laugh! The pot I got was great though! Got caned off 1 1/4oz of great bud. From one plant too. Ive got into it a bit more now but still haven't got round to saving a ton for the 250w lamp I want.

In there now are 6 lamps giving a total of 180w. Half the lamps are warm light the other half cool. I get about 3250 lumens per 36w so its only about 16,000 in total. It worked before though with no mylar and the grow area was bigger too so I think this should be ok for now. The plants are in a cheap NFT tank. The frame I built for a tenner thanks to B&Q.
In total Ive spent £125 and I made that from the very first grow I did. In fact the cheapest I can get 1 1/4 oz is £125 so its all profit from end of grow 1!

If you got any ideas I might wnat to bare in mind please shout em out! I already know ventilation needs to be sorted, the temp maxs at 80f with all lamps on. Ive only got 2 desktop fans for it so far.

looks good mate.
I got started with flouros too, and got a HPS with some money from selling a bit off to a few mates.
Good luck with the grow fella

O dear! Who feels a bit of a fool now?!?!

I turned the water on a day or two after I potsed the original pics. Im giving it the stated dose for seedlings and have the water flow on the lowest setting. Dont take my word for it but im guessing its about 1litre/minute if that.

At the moment its on at 18on 6off. (thats for the water and light)
The light is a 36w flouro with 1 cool bulb and 1 warm.

Does anybody know what Im doing wrong, if anything? If this was an organic grow I would think it was too much water, but these are the first clones ive grown too so it could be something to do with that, though ive only had trouble since about 3 days after the water went on. The temp is lingering at about 72f at the moment, the guy who gave me the clones said the mother stormed through the stages at 73f. That was also hydro.

Please help us out cos the other plants we got we just bud, that the cloning room!user posted image

Or am I just worrying too much? I just dont want my sprogs to die!

Sounds to me like their getting too much of that love juice.
NickMe!!
Ill try turning the water on for only 12hrs a day then.

Grim that means another timer, or should I say tenner!

Cheers dude.

Julian, is 'love juice' food, or something else.....(only joking m8!)

What are you feeding the plant 'Nick Me!' - i.e. how much and how often?
NickMe!!
At the mo its on Nutriculture Power-Gro (Leaf A+cool.gif

When I put it in the tank I just gave it the top up dose.
It says use 15ml of each per 5 litres of water. The top up dose is 7.5ml per 5 litres.

I aint topped it up yet so it should have about 20litres of water and 30mls of each nutrient (A+cool.gif

If it means anything to you, the nutrient is rated at...
A= 3.70-0-1.42
B= 0.52-0.85-4.42

Dont know what it means! but thats what type of nutrient it is.
To be honest, its crap stuff, but never the less it should work. Maybe not as well as the Vita Link stuff but its a nutrient designed to grow stuff.

Im sure it aint the atmosphere but what about oxygen levels in the water? Ive no bubbler nor have I added any Oxy-Plus liquid to the water. I want to try to avoid filling the tank with all types of solutions. Keep it natural.

>>> Be Warned dude - it will grow leaves okay, but it will not grow good flowers - many other newbies have wasted their time with this stuff.

(check Overgrow search engine for evidence)

You won't get as good plants without extra oxygen - trust me, I know, I've done it both ways.

All the best

What flower nutrients are recommended?

I was gonna buy these ones...
http://www.growell.co.uk/itemclass.php3?id=601

Plus, I was gonna try some kind of bud boost. Possibly this one,
http://www.growell.co.uk/itemclass.php3?id=222

The oxygen additive I would like to use a bubbler but if it works better otherwise please say so.

Cheers for your help Trichome. Ive jumped in the deep end on this, but, well I did organically, and it eventually paid off.!

High Nick,

Yes, I use Vita Link, and can recommend them as good nutrients.

Use either Bio Nova or Canna PK13/14 for boost - both available at Growell.

Do you think this is a bit of a waste of effort now or might they survive? This is a picture of the worst one. Im certain it was th nutrient cos the cutting closest to the hose is much worse than the one further away. Ive mangd to get quite a lot of the nutrient mixture out of the rockwool ad have given it a bit of water. They arn't rapidly getting worse, its taken a while for em to go like this. The other cutting has even grown 2 new 3 fingered leaves!
I was told by someone that they can go a bit yellow when producing roots but do thy go this yellow? lol

They're still alive, and now beginning to kick! (a little)
These are two on a very slow recovery! But they are getting there finally. The second one looks ill but its growing. The first one used to look like the second and look at it now!user posted image

Just thought I would show you where these 2 clones came from and where they will go when they get cloned to death themselves! These are about 5'6'' and are ready to go on 12/12.
They are Oasis.
