Does anyone know any material that is durable but not to thick, heavy, or expensive. Has anyone built a good grow room using something other than wood? Any comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. stoned.gif

can buy the framing used in grow tents make a room withing a room with some sheeting and sel adhesive velcro wont even need nails all frame parts fit together nicely and velcros sticky back both sides to line the room or rooms. No wood no work at all really can assemble it in mins pack it away if needed.

Plasterboard can be easily glued with filler. Some of it has a mylar vapour barrier already attached ... which reminds me I have a shedload of offcuts - methinks I will be cutting some up tomorrow for reflective panels smoke.gif

you can buy sheets of plastic and plexiglass, usually to whatever specifications you want, as thick or thin as you want. i have also heard of people just taking plastic tote boxes and converting them into growspaces..

you can put them together with caulking, or if you are really ingenious, you can get a heat gun and melt them together....

it's not bad because it's cheap and you can get any size, however it's harder to disguise, much better for stealth if you have a nice looking wooden growdrobe...

Hardboard, 8' x4' sheet... couple or 3 quid. Rigid, lightproof, easily cut, easily paintable. Velcro it to a frame and it'll come apart if you want to take it down.

5 sheets and you got yourself a 8' x4' x4' growcupboard...and the framing tube or batten of course, or you could just gaffer tape the edges long as you use some suitable stiffeners.

Thank you all for your ideas. I'm now armed with a good deal of knowledge when I decide to hit up Home Depot. Thanks, your suggestions will help me build a more suitable growbox, take care. stoned.gif

light and reusable.

Alliminum tube comes to mind with fitting connector.

I alway buy in the 6meter length to save a few dollars then cut to size, only thing worth watching is some is made for connectors and some is thicker that cant except the corner connectors.

Max lengths of 2m if holding ballasts longer tends to bow but wouldnt bend easily fixed with another alli beam just scewed in or you could cut box to fit another connector.
