plz help thanks

Mmm, I'm not sure, I think ya might frazzle the bulb (or the ballast), but I'm no electrician.

You might want to try putting some form of ventilation in place, if you haven't already done so.

Hi kingdanuk,
I'm running a 600 hps with a 1000 watt ballast with no probs. Try it and see, Might be wrong but i think the worst would be a blown bulb.

You can only put a 200 watt lamp in if your ballast is 200. You cant use a higher or lower wattage lamp. Maybe increasing your extraction would help to deal with your temp issues.

Maybe im wrong then, but i thought doing that was a strict no no. Always been taught not to mess about with leccy.

is the ballast part of the light like a lowbay or can you put the ballast outside the room to lower temps, also have you got a filter, that removes more heat than anything? if you want to use a lower watt bulb you'l have to buy a new light setup including ballast, as they are usually for specific wattages ,best not to mess with the light you have mate
