I have no idea of the version of Firefox you're running but one of the updates a couple of months ago broke the "Tor Button" and I stopped using it. I seem to remember downloading an entire package to replace it (Tor, TorCP, Privoxy and SwitchProxy for Firefox) and I must have found that package at the Tor site.

If that's not the issue then all I can say is RTFM - especially the bit about firewalls wink1.gif

Edit for typos/clarity.

Ive literally just downloaded firefox today (v 1.5.0.2) cos I hate IE. I downloaded the package with Tor, Privproxy and Vidalia. I'll look for SwitchProxy like but not sure if this is the issue?

Could it be a problem with the firewall settings?

Sorry, double post!

Hi dude.

I'm runing a M$ box, with XP (some edition or other, can't remember).

I use the vidalia package.

It installs Tor, Privoxy, and Vidalia (which I think is a GUI for Tor).

I get two little icons appearing on the bottom right hand side of my taskbar, like these :

[attachmentid=88658]

The one on the left is Vidalia. When it is green, that means everything is OK.

The one on the right is Privoxy. Green is good here too. (I don't know if it even goes any other colour)

I sometimes used to get this message when I had Privoxy turned on, but not Tor.

Before I used vidalia, Tor just used to sit in a shell prompt (I think - me memories not too good) on my desktop, spewing out obscure error mesages occasionally.

Hope this helps.

(Oh yeah, and firefox is up to v 1.5.0.6, theres an update button in the help menu.)

Do we really need to be using a proxy with uk420?

I know its extra special security, but are the police really interested in us home growers?
and would they really raid your house because of internet messages you post?

I think dim nea.gif dev.gif
