[attachmentid=87249][attachmentid=87248][attachmentid=87247][attachmentid=87246][attachmentid=87245][attachmentid=87244]Hey guys this is the first post in what I hope will be a very informative thread. I was gonna put it in grow diarys but seen as it aint exactly a grow that can be followed from construction to bud! I thought I'd put it here

These are the first pic's showing the basic structure of the box;
2" x 2" frame with 12mm ply base an top and hard board (MDF as I'v heard it called before) on the inside and out side.
I am making it just big enough to fit 2 flo-gro's in there. The base an top measure 27" x 41". As each flo-grow measures 18" x 22", so by the time you've put the 2" x 2" frame in you have to take off 4" from the 27" and 4" from the 41" which gives you 23" an 37" respectivly. which when you put the 2 flo-gro's in there side by side (which measure 22" x 36") gives an almost perfect fit!
Or so I thought! turns out that plained 2" x 2" isnt 2" x 2" at all!!! its about 1.5"-1.75" which has compleatly thrown my perfectionist mentality into a freefall!

As everthing's come up short!!!
The word FECK! doesnt even come close.

Sound! thanks for that leroy. I usualy just build an cut as I go along but this time I wanted to make it the best box ever! so worked it out to the mm an bought a chop saw to even get the edges of the 2" x 2" square!
However what has just dawned on me is that the box is gonna need wires an air lines goin in so the points where the 2" x 2" has fallen short along the bottom is actualy a good thing

As the holes can be drilled there and will be very discreet an therefor wont ruin the look of the box!
Who says shit dont happen for a reason

Might aswell tell ya about the box, it will house 2 moms in 2 flo-gro's. Each mom will have a blue 125w enviro, the flo-gro's will have "mepeato" as the medium,(which in case you dont know is a kind of rock wool 50% an sponge mix 50% that is sold by my local grow shop). each flo-gro will have an air stone in the tank and one in the medium. and the mother box will be attached to the same lung as the grow boxes, i.e. all the rooms have the same temp, humidity an co2

Hey fella's here we are again. Iv done a little more today so I'll go through it all step by step.
Firstly here's a few showing the box with the interior panels on. If you look back at yesterdays pics you should see the difference.
Notice on the first pic how the board doesnt come all the way to the edge of the piece of 2" x 2" that its attached to. this is because this is the side, interior panel and the door will be fixed here. So better to leave a bit of room.

Next we put the doors on. Just a simple square frame of 2" x 2" (you can make it stronger by adding diagonal pieces but depending how big it is you shouldnt have to)
The first pic shows the type of hinge I use, It isnt as thick as a normal hinge cos it kinda folds in on its self. The reason I do this is to reduce the size of the gaps around the edge of the doors(light leaks).

Next we have the shot of the interior with all the panels on, and the box from out side showing the interior panels.

Next we have the shot of the box with the exterior panels on, notice how I over lap the hard bord on the doors. This is to seal in the light.
Hope this is all good so far, tomorow I'll be adding the reflecta-gro, handels and door bolt's etc

Hey fella's! sorry its been so long, had a spot of bother. If you've read the derbyshire times in the last two weeks (page 2 I beleive it was) you can proberably figure out what I'm on about.
Any way down to bussines, I'v put the reflecta-gro in an hung the light up. I'v also decided to go with the auto pot, one pot modules instead of the flo-gro's. I decided that the no waste , no re-circulation method used by them was probably the best way to go for the moms. [attachmentid=92370][attachmentid=92369]
notice how the reflecta-gro is hung as one piece and over laps on the door part. combine this with the over lapping MDF that I mentioned earlyer an you got yer self a lght tight mom box!
