Full Version: What Is The Best Way To Set Up A Cooltube ??

Got a Cooltube a few weeks ago but only got around to fitting it in my grow-tent at the weekend.
Had to wait on the grow I had in there at the time finishing.

With the hot weather we have had recently my grow-tent was running at 35 even 38 on one day, with my open ended reflector.
Not good.
So as soon as the grow that was in there finished, I thought get that Cooltube in there.
But it's still sitting at around 32.

I have it set up as follows :-
I have the fan connected to ducting and sucking through a filter, then on the blow side of the fan I have that connected to the Cooltube, so it is blowing over the bulb.
Then on the other side of the Cooltube some ducting running out of my grow tent.

At the moment I have to duct the hot air into the room that I keep the grow-tent in, but the door is open and also a window, although the window obviously has the curtains closed.
I know, not ideal and is probably part of the problem.

Does anyone know if it is better to have it set up so the fan is sucking rather than blowing??

I would put it cooltube filter fan, have it sucking the air out of your grow tent, through the cooltube and filter. yinyang.gif

or,you can cut the filter out alltogether(as that is your only area of resistance) and pull air in from outside the tent and then back out.
so,you'd have ducting-fan-tube-ducting
with mine,p prefer to blow the air through the tube as i dont want my fan taking the extra heat.

Cheers Stu, and everyone else.
By the sounds of things I have it set up correctly, as the other posters said to set it up the way I have it already.
It must be a mixture of venting into the room where I keep the tent and the hot weather we had the other week.

I will be looking into trying to duct outside.

Cheers Guy's
