i really should know all of this by now but this is gonna be my first time with hydro so this advice is much needed

im going flood and drain this time and rather than having buckets full of pebbles on the top tray in just gonna fill the top tray with clay pebbles and let it flood and drain that way.

so.....

1) what should my levels be with the ec,cf and ph for my new set up?

2) and this may sound stupid but is there away of adjusting my ec if its too high?
or is it a case of trying again

3) is it worth while me having 2 air stones in my water tank?

4) how many times aday should my water pumps come on for?

5) and how long should the pump be on for?..i guess this goes with the size of the tray

6) do i leave it to flood for a while or have the pump stop as soon as it starts to flood back down to the tank?

cheers

the ec, cf, and ph i cant help you with mate sorry, but heres a link:

Ec levels

Ec

the airstones in the tank, supposedly aerate and oxygenate the water, mixing the nutes constantly too, so is a good thing i hear.

i'll let the experts come and fill in the gaps in my knowledge. stoned.gif

Grrr - this has been covered. SEARCH.

but...

1) Seedlings - 0.4 -> 0.7 - Veg - 0.8 -> 1.2 - Flower - 1.4 === but this is very rough. It's been a while.

2) EC too high = add more water.

3) The more the merrier regarding the airstones. I prefer having a pump in the water to keep the nutrient mix moving and oxygenated.

4) 15 mins of every hour. 15 mins ever 2 or 3 hrs when lights off.

Maybe someone else can give tips specifically on flood and drain - I'm an NFT man myself. But should be the same.

Hope that helps

No never just add water doh.gif

Take some out of the res and put a weaker strngth nute in to balance the ec wink1.gif

And make sure you rinse the pebbles well and soak em in 5.5ph water overnight before using wink1.gif
