Hi all, I have a new PH meter i got from the ebay, seems very good, but i havent had a chance to calibrate it due to no conductivity standard. doh.gif

Would it be ok to use distilled water? i.e. the stuff for car batteries? I was thinking this would be ec 0.0? unsure.gif

Thanks Guys! yinyang.gif

No ec yes but you have a ph meter doh.gif

have you got a ph meter or an ec meter coz conductivity standard is used with an ec meter not ph meter, ph meter would use ph buffer solution. But Bob why would you even take a chance on it not being calibrated correctly, buy a bottle of what you need and have peace of mind its set right. Your plants will thank you for the couple of quid it takes to calibrate it wink1.gif

What i meant to say is:

I was basically thinking of just doing a quick check with it puko, to see if it's in range before the EC standard arrives.

Also, what EC is conductivity standard set at? 0.5? 0.2? 0.0? unsure.gif

You need the fluid mate to do it proper. You need summat in for the meter to read it wink1.gif

This is used for calibrating CF or EC meters, NOT to be used on Truncheons. Use once a week for accurate readings.

just out of interest, why wouldn't you use this on truncheons? unsure.gif

If its a brand new ec meter then it'll be factory calibrated and wont need doing for a week or so after 1st using it. Cant quite recall what the fluid is set at coz iv got the bluelab truncheon now and its always calibrated.
