Puko
Surface area is the key from what I can tell dan, so id chop it up fine or even grind it, but if you do, it will be a bit green coz more of the leaf matter will go through the filter.

Aint used a proper extractor like the one shown, only used a caffietierre, so take my advice with a pinch of salt thumbsup.gif

hi man my honey bee extractor instructions say to grind dry material as fine as pos then do the biz but be very careful as the procedure is very explosive so no smoking when you do it,i do mine outside away from electric items too as they could cause the gas to ignite....hope all goes well for you.. yinyang.gif

Remember to only use a >99.9% pure butane like Colibri or Newport.

Is the honey bee extractor stainless steel inside?

I wouldn't use it unless it's stainless steel inside. Or some other non corrosive metal.

Get a refund danthebadman. You can make your own metal extractor for peanuts. Spend the refund money on chocolates for your woman, so that she doesn't feel bad.

top product DTBM try grinding your trim with a coffee grinder then pack it well in to the tube put a paper filter in the top before putting the gas in ( if you dont get any with it try using coffee filter paper) try using a mirror to let the gas dry on it's then very easy then to scrap the oil off with a stanley blade hope this help's

That's why I said only use something that is glass or a non corrosive metal inside. Stear clear of any plastic unless you have some kind of lab results to prove that butane doesn't corrode it.

Dunno what the honey bee is like but be careful when you put the gas in as it can freeze your hands if your not careful.
Thats why i made my extractor out of copper pipe and a couple of stop ends and some pipe insulation SEE HERE

You should be wearing gloves, mitts, or oven gloves while using the honeybee because the butane does cool the plastic ... alot !

Edited to add :

You might want to do it outside too

Is the last pic of frozen oil? It looks abit solid to me if it isn't. What filter paper did you use?

If it's too solid for your liking, you can add a few drops of vodka to make it slightly more runny.

home made copper pipe .'
The oil worked out ok but some of went quite gritty after evaporating butane using the newport brand

Also just wondering if there are any Black oil alchol extraction kits able to be bought in complete kits somewhere.
