SirBob
hello all, got my cam back, and due to change plans im going to have to ditch the grow diary.

instread, heres what im doing atm:

changes to room:

gone all hydro (dwc)

digi 600w light (cheers joolz wink1.gif wink1.gif )

ventilation shuffle

ok, im now going all hydro due to how much better, cleaner and simpler it is than mud.
I have 6 PoG in a 50lire bubbler, with a mental silent 20lire/min air pump. Due to these pog being in a low headroom veg box for 8 weeks while flowering room was free, i had to top them every couple of days to stop them burning. this has left me with a scrog like look! cool.gif

good thing with digital lamps is that you get no flickering pictures! biggrin.gif
SirBob
I can fit 2 of these bubblers in that room if i move all the gubbins, so i will be cycling the flowering so i get a harvest every 4 weeks cool.gif

Here is the new digital 600 w light ive got, fecking brilliant but a bit long, so i have had to mount it diagonally in my room.

Its also a bit hot for my room, so i have drilled several hole in the top of the reflector and mounted my extractor ducting to it. this way all the heat gets drawn out from the top of the shade, and out of the growroom.

as my room is quite small (see profile) the 600w make a lot of heat so i have had to reverse my ventilation. it now intakes nice cool air from the loft, and sucks the hot air from the reflector into the containing room. even with this, the room still gets to 32c in the heat of the day!

this will be ok when i switch to 12/12, having the light on at night with a thermostat controlled fan controller 13.gif

Hope yoou like my room, im going to be re-building my veg box in the next couple of days, so watch this space!!! smile.gif

Hi mate, they are about 75cm long, so your room will have to be at least 1 metre to get the reflector near the middle.

The light spread is good, would cover about 1m2 at around 60cm high if that makes any sense 31.gif

Nice looking setup you`ve got there pal. Sorry to ask but i just don`t know, are these digital lights any cheaper to run? I know there the same wattage but like i said I just dont know, and what are the differences regarding price? I`ve not heard much about them so i`m not sure of the pro`s and cons. Happy growing! yahoo.gif
SirBob
i think they draw the same amount of leccy, mine is rated at 660w which is the same as normal ballasts AFAIK. wink1.gif

The cons of this model are:

It's Long
Ballast cant be placed elsewhere
Can't change reflector

Pros include:

No radio interference
increased light ouput
longer bulb life
camera shots dont have that 'flickery' effect
less overall heat (havent had a 600w so i cant tell personally)

Righty then, today i wall plan and build my new veg drobe.

Heres what it looks like now...
SirBob
total state eh? lol.gif

i want to make i taller and a bit deeper, so i can use my 400w MH light in there. Perhaps at a later date i will build a mother drobe to house the enviros, too. smile.gif

i will start with rolling a fatty, then clearing the area so i can work easily.

you are certainly high lol.gif

key means apply a base coat of some sorts to the plywood, so paint will not flake or absorb into it wink1.gif
