Found one today in my North West Leics garden...a black ladybird with 4 bright red spots, never seen anything like it before...when I looked the beast up on t'interweb I found I had to record it.

What does it want?

Its after my aphid collection, and will stoop at nothing to satiate itself on my little green pests. Oh and it also eats our native ladybird allegedly.

I'm waiting to receive further demands...

Its gone now anyway, I was supposed to catch it and send to 'those who know' for experimentation or somesuch.

Foiled again!!

I'm confused, you said the ladybird was black with red spots in your description but the picture on the site you linked is of a red ladybird with black spots .

I've seen plenty of those black ladybirds with red spots in the past, I didn't know there was anything dodgy about them.

Black with red spots I'm sorry, you needed to actually click more than one button to see the diversity of the harlequin ladybird in all its splendour.
