Hi All,

I'm contemplating an NL grow soon, I'd like to pick some brains please.
I've heard that NL is both reasonably low odour and of fairly short stature, though some reports vary. I've also heard that it's reasonably hassle-free, which is a main criterion for me as the growroom will be some miles away, and I will not get to see them real regular.

I see there are a number of NLs out there...

Nirvana, KC Brains, and Female Seeds at the budget end; Sensi and Reeferman at the more expensive side, although I am sure there's a few I've missed.

So I welcome all yer comments, experiences, wisdom etc, re this strain, particularly as far as its low-maintenance and "standardisation" aspects are concerned. I'll be growing from seed untill a/some good mums found, in compost.

The main criteria are standard size, low-hassle, low odour and "psychadelic" qualities.
I would not exclude NL x Shiva crosses, as Shiva is already pretty close to what I'm looking for (though perhaps too niffy?)

Cheers

I've grown nearly a pack of sensi NL(got four seeds left)got five female's so far all a little bit stretchey ,all ended up between three and four foot when flowered at about 18",four of them where low odur but one of the them which is my keeper is my smellyiest plant and it does seem to be a bit trippy to me,although i have done a bit of acid in the past. lol.gif

I am growing it at the moment check the grow diaries section. Mine came from femaleseeds.nl and would definitely recommend them especially for the price!

btw if you look at the diary the biggest plant in the pics really does stink and im only at 3 week!!!!!! lol.gif

wink1.gif ...ran the NL myself for around 7 years. Absolutely loved it. wink1.gif Received it from a friend who said it was from some seeds a mate had got from the states. Good producer, excellent smoke and reasonable smell .......though a carbon filter is always a good idea wink1.gif

Many thanks to everyone who suggested so far.

Obviously there are a LOT of versions out there.
I'm still looking...

Depends on what you are looking for really out of the NL family theres stuff written about them all in the strainbase...you got the original NL, NL#2 is supposed to quite fruity, NL#5 which is supposed to be a good all rounder, and Sag do a NL#9 which i've grown out...watch out though smells strong -like old socks...

As for price I would go with the cheaper end of things if your starting out... that NL#9 is for the more hardcore, but most of the NL#5 crosses are going to be a good bet...

Good Luck!

I would go with reefermans nl #5 as it is also from neville's original stock. Anything neville had IMHO is at the top of my list.

Ive grown Nirvanas NL(?) x Big Bud...I think it was some Northern lights #5 x with big bud..
Only one of my plants slightly pleased potency wise..And that was after it had matured for a while
before flowering..I know big bud is often pretty dissapointing, except for the yeild..But i wouldnt go with
any of nirvanas northern lights x's again.

I have been thinking of trying JW's Northern lights F2's which are apparently a mix of a variety of
northern lights, interbred and backcrossed.

You might also want to look into the Aurora B. from the Flying dutchmen.
