Third Man
Hello all

Thanks to Kaiki and his little contest earlier in the year I received some Thai 3 x Haze seeds (also says 12/05 on the packet, I presume this is a packing date). As the weather has picked up five seeds were planted in Levingtons Seed and cutting compost on 17th April. So today is the forth day and still no sign. I tend to germinate seeds in trays on top on a heated sand bed which runs at 20C. Most seeds take 4-7 days to come through.

I’ve never grown a true Sativa before so I’m quite excited.

The plan is to grow them outside and take cuttings after a month or so which will go directly under 12/12 to determine sex. These will then be flowered in a new space which is part way through construction at the moment. It should accommodate one plant and is just over 80cm x 60cm x 2m tall. It’s all I can fit in. I have a 6” inline extractor which will be run on a speed controller. 400w HPS above and side lighting with fluorescent strip lights.

If anyone has any pearls of wisdom about growing sativas please feel free to let me know. And if anyone from CBG seeds has any background on the seeds I would be most grateful.

Here’s to a fine summer and long hot autumn.

Just a quick note to say that all five seeds were through a couple of days ago. They were transplanted into 3" square pots last night. I have to mention that at this stage most seedlings have the tap root and that's is, these beauties had stacks of side roots as well, they are much stronger than most other seedlings I planted in the last few years.

These seedlings are BIG I tell ya. The T3xH are the right hand labeled seedlings, compared to indicica dominant seedlings of the same age (two labeled plants to the left). Very skinny first true leaves and more of a lime green colour. Good germination and very good vigour, top seeds all round. Apologies for poor photo, it's the camera, honest. 2nd edit, apologies for double photo, mind like a steel trap me.

Good luck mate, be nice to see these develop.
