putting them in soil next Monday, cant wait! they don't say what the parentage is on the Mandala seeds website, other than Kashmiri landrace genetics are involved. I'll post some pics and a smoke report when their done and dried.

I don't think they know the origins exactly.. according to their catalogue the mother was developed from plants grown from bag seed, as the smoke was so good. And a resinous male is the Dad, which is the one that came from landrace origins I think unsure.gif

If it turns out as good as mine I think you'll be pleased. Everything about it has impressed me, especially the end results. The only minor thing is that I had a few banana's on my first fem and the same's happening again on my current one, though hopefully not enough to cause any major problems. Go easy on the feeding aswell as it's really sensitive to nute levels.. even Light Mix caused some minor burning on one seedling.

Be interesting to see how yours turn out yinyang.gif

Hashberry hasn't any genetic parentage from either Hashplant or Blueberry. wink.gif

This is some background info from our 2006 catalogue:

A Short History of Hashberry

In the late 1980's we were in San Francisco and ran into a middle-aged hippie, in Haight-Ashbury, the "center of the universe" during the psychedelic flower power movement. He was driving a purple van with orange-red colored curtains and just on his way to the Rainbow Gathering. After a friendly chat he offered us a bag of seeded weed and disappeared. We rolled a joint right then and there and walked down the street. The only thing was, that we couldn't feel our feet anymore – we were flying!
From these seeded indica buds we developed over the years the genetic base for the mother of Hashberry. She was crossed with a special male (J7) that is part of the landrace hybrids we use in our Sadhu lineage. Hashberry is not only named after the unique aroma and resiny buds, but is also derived from the initials of the famous neighbourhood Haight-Ashbury, where we were fortunate to collect these special Californian seeds.

There have been numerous Hashberry grows at other forums and I hope to summarize a few of them for members here.

Cheers,
Mike

Yeah, i've had a pack of Hashberry 'bout 6 months and not had chance to pop 'em, but their next up (along with some sugarloaf). Guess i'll start 'em in a couple of weeks so they'll be ready to go as soon as me flowerin' room's empty. biggrin.gif

Have just popped two hashberries seeds into my Prop from my recent seed purchase.

Mike: Got any additional grow tips for these little ladies (Bubbler scrog under 400 watt Son T HPS)??

I've got some Hashberry clones on the go at the moment.. the two on the right and front left..

[attachmentid=79324]

The right ones are a bit pale looking I thought.. getting the feed levels right has always been a struggle for me with this strain. I went light on the feed last time after overdoing it before and half the leaves fell off stoned.gif

And more in the veg cupboard..

[attachmentid=79325]

No idea if it's a keeper or not as the plant they came from had to be cut early due to mites. The resulting buds were a bit rough and on the weak side as a result, so hopefully things will go better this time.

Let's cross our fingers these are ladies. ;-)
I guess any Mandala's in a bubbler are bound to grow like mad. So make sure you flip to 12/12 before they get too large for your house...*lol.gif*

@ Redseal: if you use quality potting soil, without extra nutrient free additives mixed in (like perlite, coco, vermiculite, sand, etc.) plus a good pot size then you should not have any major problems with "malnutrition". The leaf drop sounds like nitrogen deficiency which is a typical problem in organic grows since nitrogen is used up quickly during growth. A deficiency comes from vegging the plants too long in old pots, and not replenishing on time by providing the plants with bigger pots & fresh soil after sexing, or when they outgrow their pots.
If you use liquid Bio ferts then you should know that they work by nourishing the soil and via this detour providing the plants with nutrients. That means they are not fast-acting like mineral salts. Powdered guano is more potent since it contains urea. But it's also easy to overdose indoor if one is not careful.
Products like Bio Bizz need to be administered in low-medium dosages, and regularly, if they should have any meaningful effect. Bio Bizz recommends 1/4 of the recommended dosage for beginners for example. But no bio fertilizer can replace the beneficial effects of fresh soil and therefore repotting remains the best way to grow healthy and green plants.

Grow on,
Mike

Yea I think it was, though I couldn't seem to correct it at all which was the problem (the same thing happened to the leaves on my Aurora Indica's aswell).. made me wonder if there was some issue with the soil, which was All-Mix again (bought around the time that people were on about a dodgy batch/es of it) The clones that I've got in cheap garden centre compost look so much darker and healthier. Might be time to give coco a go after seeing the results people get stoned.gif

Hashberry is next on my list. I'll be waiting to try out the meds when they get done.

lol.gif mike you shouldn't be saying things like that, after all of our efforts to get people to stop trying to grow plants off bagseed and complaining that they are only getting hermies tongue.gif

Hi WeedWarrior, thanks for your feedback. The heyday of Haight Ashbury was wild and wonderful. We tried to preserve the old school taste and high in Hashberry as much as possible. Seasoned growers who sample it say it's like a time machine. smoke.gif
I'm glad you got such good results. Even if things weren't so ideal all the time I think you still did a great job with these ladies. It can be demanding for anyone to look after the plants daily. That's why I value hybrid vigour. Plants should be able to take care of themselves for a while and bounce back after a punch or two. Some people call this strain "bombproof". But generally it's our aim to make all the Mandala strains grow strong. You will probably see it in your Satoris. This is also a fine plant and not at all finicky. I'm sure she's gonna cheer you up. wink.gif
You are welcome to add more pics and details any time.

Keep up the good work, thumbsup.gif
