Hi there everyone .... heres a LINK to my current grow if you u want more of a feel of where i am growing !!

The following pics are all from the same plant ... and the other looks fine !!

Setup info

200 Watt Red Enviro + 125 Watt Blue Enviro
TD250 Extraction
Passive Intake
Temps average 26.1 'C
Humidity was low so iv placed a bowl of water in there more now seems to have helped !!
NFT 205

Cheers,

Melchiah

Oh yeah and their bout 2 1/2 weeks veg from clone !!

Hello Mel & M.K.

I'm a relative newbie growing compost so I may not be much help. If I wrong then correct me. spliff.gif

The afghani, bigbud looks crazy. I'd be interested in having a bit o that Armageddon stuff!!! Saw the catalogue...

Is it poss that your spots are by nutrients uptaken to the plant. I mean that they are diff varieties so they may use nutes differently. ie. Afghanis sweating, drinking and getting big bud ltr... Mazar not able for strong nute mix??

May b the mazar has a tend to droop a bit. I think I saw other pics where the mazar (cuttings) were propegated in diy cooler box type areo propegation box and they were droopy but picked up later in Veg

Hope it works for ya

Hey all

Now that could be several problems. What I would recomend is that you check you PH and Cf at the current time and post it, so I can diagnose
bennybignuts
i'd try and get your
humdity up mate
before messing with other things.

Have you checked this out?

As always with nft I would dump the res contents and start again with fresh water only, Ph adjusted to 5.5-5.8, for 12-24 hours, and then mix a fresh batch of nutes at half strentgh, building up slowly as the plan asks for it, (slight yellowing in older, more mature leaves showing early need for more nitrogen)).

An inherent problem with the NFT205 is the relatively small reservoir. Its all to easy for the Ph to sway + or - in a surprisingly short space of time, catching out even the most vigilant grower so I would keep on top of your measuring devices' calibrations and check Ph daily. Some check two or three times a day, and at different points throughout the system, (distribution pipe, run off, res etc).

Sounds too much like hard work to me wink1.gif

Good luck yinyang.gif

Hey red dragon

Nice post about the 205 tanks m8 somthing to consider wink1.gif but lets not confuse the poor man by showing him a list of nutrient def's lol.gif. We have sooo many people in the store asking for epsom salts for mg def. But we are hard water here so we have too much Mg in the tap water doh.gif . Normally its PH fluctuation in the tanks, so yes I would empty out the tanks on a 2 to 3 day rota. And Look into Canna's Aqua range of nuts for even more stability wink1.gif

Thats what its there for, and only he has the plants in front of him. Using the nutrient deficiency FAQ allows him to fully investigate all possible issues, not only the ones people who answer in this thread mention!

It matters not how much Mg is in the water if its chemically locked out. There might as well be none.

I also live in a hard water area but thats not to say I have never suffered with Mg deficiency. The FAQ I linked to would also mention that the high Ph could lock out magnesium (as well as a raft of other elements), which no-one (thus far) has mentioned. Thats another fact the new grower would come away learning.

Water quality is everything in NFT. No matter how you "term" it, its generally responsible for a high percentage of NFT problems. Using the deficiency guide allows the grower to do some of his own legwork, by reading about side issues that can result from a totally different issue or set of symptoms he may previously have had no concept of.

This gives a better understanding of the plants needs and leads (hopefully) to more successful grows for the grower.

Well said RD!.....too many new growers get bogged down with the technicalities of NFT growing..
It ain't fooking rocket science eh?! wink1.gif

Hmmm Water quality is everything in hydroponics!!! And nutrient deficiencies are rare because of you using a pre mixed nutrient sollution. Normally deficiencies in N.F.T are caused by PH fluctuation or salt build up. Thats if you are doing everything that you should do!! Even high humidity can effect the uptake of nut's!!!

Too many growers are reading about nut def's, reading guides like these and adding stuff like epsom salts, when a good flush would sort the problem out.

And yes it's not rocket science if you follow set instructions and use pre mixed sollutions, but if you really want to know whats going on with your plants and how to diagnose problems there is alot more to growing. If not forum's wouldn't exist!!!
