ot1 has offered to give me a hand at getting a good organic mix using products in the states. i thought i would bring it to the board so ot1 does not have to repeat himself because i know he doesnt like to.....

ot1 after i saw yur mix using uk avaialable ingredients i can see why i couldnt find it. i did a search using various ingredients i thought would be in it. there are no ingredients i am familar with at least per those names.

my growing buddy stonpony has for the most part the same strains as i do so i thought i would start by putting down a baseline of products that i believe are readily available here and the same mix stonpony uses for the most part. his mix is doing fine with the plants we have i beleive.

this recipe is from vic high' s bcga site...

1 Bale sunshine mix #2 or promix (3.8 cu ft)
8 cups Bone Meal - phosphorus source
4 cups Blood Meal - nitrogen source
1 1/3 cups Epsom salts - magnesium source
3-4 cups dolmite lime -calcium source & pH buffering
1 tsp fritted trace elements
4 cups kelp meal.
9kg (25 lbs) bag pure worm castings

- Mix thoroughly, moisten, and let sit 1-2 weeks before use.

pi sorry mate I have let this slide, been through a horrid week, you have to understand most of the ingredients in Vic’s mix are just as strange as our mix is to you.

Anyhoo If you can get the ingredients for Vic’s super soil mix, it is tried, tested and said by lots of people to be the dogs dangely bits.

I would tend to add wetting agent when moistening it, this is really important and helps nutrient uptake throughout the life of the grow. I would give it at least 2 to 3 weeks to mature after mixing. Also I would suggest adding 1 cup of hoof and horn meal.

Your problem is finding worm castings but I think worth trying!

9 kg = 19.8 lbs not 25 lbs. So between 11 and 12 kilos is nearer the mark.
