I made earlier being bored i took the old fish tank apart to get the heater , pump & airstone out smile.gif

Aint got a clue about hydro never done it , but could this be used for maybe cloning or even a 1 plant jobbo unsure.gif

Obviously if this will work the whole thing will be coverd in blackout & have holes in the top for the pot(s) , here's what i got 1 x heater 1x pump with airline & airstone and a nice lil tub , opionions/critsism welcomed

This is just a shot in the dark , if possible id lke to get it in the back of the flower room with a nice ak-47 in it , remember im a total newb to hydro , i dunno even if this will work , so please shed a little light on this for me wink1.gif

I would say a ph meter is more essential. But you can buy cheap ph test kits so no probs wink1.gif

So I cant see why not wink1.gif

I tried using one of those cheap kits, and found they varied considerably from my ph meter readings when I bought that... I got an EC truncheon for a fiver last year on EBay - bargain!!!!

You can manage without the kit Lawless, but your plants won't thank you for it. That hydro lark is like Science class!!!

I moved to compost this time in order to get some mothering stock... Don't know if my NFT tray will ever see active service again now!!!

Im sure we'll get ya through it mate wink1.gif

Start at quarter strength then up it slowly and read the plants wink1.gif

Good thing about hydro is if you fuck up theres always the good owd flush to help wink1.gif

Hi church the plan is/was to have this in the main room along side 4-5 plants in compost so if i fail i wont be left short wink1.gif

The ph kit ive got is one of those where you put the water in add liquid & check the colour against those onm the results card , supoose it will do untill i see if i can gras it , science class you say ... Great lets hope i have more luck than i did at school yinyang.gif

nice one cool.gif

I started growing with hydro just cos I wanted something to do which would involve me... And oh yes it did... 3 months of ph and ec obsession, wand waving and reservoir checking - a crazy 3 months it was!!!

I'm sure you'll find it fun Lawless - I know it taught me some fundamentals that have stood me in good stead since, and I still see household items as potential Hydro-gadget fare!

And of course, the difference in growth speed and yield will make it all worthwhile!!!! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

hi lawless
ph meters are quite cheap ....on the bay
better than trying to guess the colour....

as for ppm meters...
a guy
terraponic losesthese for about 35 a time
may be worth mailing him for a private sale

but the shops want £75

set up looks good though mate
ive just added two 12" air stones(one per tub)(40 ltrs each)
and the bubbles are very nice(i did have to split and balance out the pump as one was more bubbles than the other )

since then added one of those co2 tabs....

the bubbles have multiplied about 4x as much

will put some pics up in me new diary

Nice one church thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

sounds good mate all that wand waving & ph'ing whistling.gif

At least if i try & fail or cant get to grips ive had ago at it .... id love to be getting 3 oz+ off 1 plant every grow it would bulk te overall harvest up very much , so how does one go about starting with clones straight of a plant , just plonk them in as i would with water only & the res touching the net pots once rooted lower the res to a fem mm below the pot , thats right , right unsure.gif

Nice one church yahoo.gif
