Mornin all, having accumulated a nice stock of growing gear over quite some time, I will be starting my new grow soon.

I've got 4 NFT 424, all lined up side by side, and two 1000w lights, 1 over 2 tanks respectivally. Now the real question is how many plants is best from your experince. I was thinking of loads of small plants like a SCROG to begin with but I'd be wasting the penertration of the 1000w's.

I came to the conculsion of 4-5 plants per kit. 4 would probally be more stable and easier but an extra 5 plants would make a big difference.

So back to the point, Any advice from people who grow in NFT would be more than welcome as I'm still undecided at the moment, cheers in advance,

you must be chomping at the bit
for my two penneth..less could be more..and if not its safer
i am no expert on law ..but..less plants is less problems if the worst scenario comes into play
i have a thread in grow room photos called new grow prep ..you can see by the photos posted that there are two topped plants per light and four un topped here and there
the yields look good and there is a lot less plants than some who run between two and four lights
just make sure that before 12/12 they have been topped and the roots have well taken

Extremly valid point there mate, put loads of effort into making sure I won't get caught, but none in case I did if you get my point.

2 per tray, 8 massive monsters, you've put a smile on my face cool.gif

Sounds good as less plants means less problems per tray, and with the thousand watters I'm sure the plants would make good use of it, I've only used 400 watters before so I can imagine the difference.

I'll be ploughing through with that then. Have my first shot at LST as well, haven't given that a shot yet. Is it advisable to top the plants more than once for multipal heads??? Or would this just make the remaining ones too small, cheers

whith what you have seen they are just topped once and that seems to do the trick
after a couple of weeks flowering..you might need to trim up the bottoms a tiny bit to get the buds more intensive further up ??
tend to work with 600s as to 1000s but have used the 1000s and the only thing you need to keep on top of is the heat issue but i am being nitpicky..
you will be fine
good luck
