Mar 16 2006, 11:38 PM
4. Full cabinet shot with added compact fluro for additional lighting. let me know what you think.
I am going to modify the intake (flap of some sort and use the PC fans to blow over the plants to strengthen them.[attachmentid=67476]

Cheers all, working great.
The 4 ladies (cinnamon) have just been tied down, they grow pretty quick these girls.

Here is the new passive intake.
I have fitted a 5" bracket and connected ducting to blow into the heart of the grow (I have put fine mesh at the intake hole to stop any nasty stuff getting in)
[attachmentid=67589]

Mar 18 2006, 02:04 PM
And here is the new mini osilating fans that I have made up from the old PC fans that I used before.
These are constantly on (using a multi voltage PSU running @ 4.5v) so there is a nice constant breeze in there to blow the heat away from the plants and generaly circulating the air.

And here is the new Intake and fan system in full, plus a good pick of the girls tied down.
Any feedback appreciated!

Very nice! You won't regret it if you get some easy rollers for lowering and raising the light, though - they're a godsend

How have you light proofed the doors?

Hi Grow Monkey.
I light proofed the doors with sticky door excluder all round the door opening and the door itself
Here it is fitted up to the top of the grow area on the door side and more on the top of the grow area (they fit tigether and make a light and air proof seal)
[attachmentid=67806]
and here is the bottom of the left door and the bottom of the grow area
[attachmentid=67807]
Hope this helps.

Doubt I could manage a 15 min set let alone a 2hr stomp these days. Anyone here ever go to Double Dipped at Bagleys in the 90's? Or Equinox up at Rushden?
As Dr GT said, you may run outa room in there but all tied down you might be OK. Looks lie you have a similar setup to me but I removed the shelf from my wardrobe to give some extra room.
Also I thionk someone mentioned easy roller thingys, check Wilko's if you have one near you, picked some up in there for £3ish

Don't want to mini-hijack the thread but I could do with some more of those - what section of the shop have they put them in? Good old Wilkos.

Also a bit of sound proofing for the fan. Its not that noisey, but anything more to improve the stealthness is a good thing
Just simple bubble wrap fitted to inner skin of fan area of the doors.
[attachmentid=69786]
And a good bit around the fan, doesnt look as neat now, but works great.

Hello folks, Ive been adding more kit to the cabinet.
A fan regulator.
[attachmentid=70685]
The fan is always on now, and its bloody quiet! My PC is louder!!!

Im running it at about 1/4 speed, still plenty of air movement sucking out.
Its the B&Q one that a few folk have used on here, well worth the small outlay.
Cheers, Feedback welcome as normal.

Quick question dudes.
I have been test running this for about 3 hours now, temps are fine around the 20- 23c, the humidity is about 30%, is this to dry, or will it be fine????
cheers

I have now added a few pest controls into the grow area.
1. Sticky fly pads, I have noticed a few tiny black flys buzzing out of the grow when the doors open. Is this anything to worry about?
[attachmentid=71030]
2. I have also added a Sideshow Bob to keep an eye on things. Im am wondering if he is the best choice of Simpsons character to use, or should I upgrade to Family Guy members?
[attachmentid=71033]

No stick with sideshow bob, he brings abit of class to the grow

Unless you have enough space to stick in brian as well
Perhaps its all the mylar but those pic look stunning and the plants don't look half bad too
How did you get the PSU to run without a mobo? I want to use a couple of PC fans in my grow, i've got an old 250watt PSU and a couple but i don't know how to make it work without a PSU.
Cheers

I used a multi voltage PSU, stripped the ends and wired it up to the PC fans. Places like Maplin sell these. I am running them @3v just now for a gentle breeze in the grow.

I see what you mean now, don't bother fucking around with computer PSU's.
Good luck with your grow, when i get round to it i'll post a grow diary
Thanks again

Ive added these soil protectors to see if it will stop my little black fly problem. Hopefully this will stop any larvie being left in the soil and the sticky pads to catch any fully grown ones. good idea?

Hey dude the grows looking ace but on the character front i'd suggest that you get a stormtrooper in there sharpish to keep an eye on proceedings because its a well known fact that fly's will soon feck off if they are told that this is not the grow they were looking for and to move along

More additions dudes.
2 new mini compact fluro bulbs (18W, 1100 lumen 2700K each) the way they are fitted is just temporary until this grow is finished, then the shade will be modified. These are to sort out a bit of a dark patch around the ballast area of the enviro. Works great for a good even spread of light now.

Right folks, its time to tweak the stealth cabinet again ready for the new grow, which is Femaleseeds.nl X - line, Northern Lights X ICE (sounds yummy!) diary for this to follow. But first.......
1. New light fitting holes for the compact fluros.

A quick addition to the grow space. I have added another 2 fans for air movement angled to the base of the current grow. I still have to fix them to a permanent location, what they are fixed to is temporary.
