Hi,

anyone experienced with that strain?
QUOTE
Ethiopian Highland - Outdoor Considered the finest in the world by the ruling Empress Zauditu and Ras Tafari who became the Emperor Haile Selassie this pure sativa comes direct from the ancient land of Ethiopia in what we believe is a world first. Cultivated and inbred by his latter day followers in the city of Shashemene this sativa grows well at altitude and in cooler climates. Buds typically long sativa with visible resin droplets providing a clear energetic high. Plants are shorter, branched and stockier than the tall bushy southern african types. Should also do well indoors but not fully trialed yet.

I'm up with some pictures soon. wink1.gif smoke.gif

Overall to say: don't like too much nutes, but epsom salts, likes dry soil, stout in veg, but triples in size when flowering and clones like a breeze.
The high: creative, social, trippy, safe, works for backpain as well: I haven't yet fully experienced the potential of this nice strain, but it's definitely a keeper. More later, in about a week I'm about to put one of my oldest cuttings into flower and I guess I'll take two cuttings out of the fridge to supply a friend, so stay tuned...

Bookmarked!

Short sativa suitable for indoors, sounds good!

Hm, indoors I experienced flowering times from 10 weeks++ to short 58 days. I'm not south east, more west and I'm going to give a bunch of cuttings a try this year. But I have very low spirits considering that, because there people everywhere. Maybe we can get some feedback from my friend who will recieve his cuttings in 14 days. He'll grow them on his balcony. yahoo.gif Anyway that strain likes it cold, so I guess for a mid October harvest here and that should be possible. The smell and the weed itself reminds me of my very first bagseed outdoor grows in the late 80s or early 90s. That time the crop was in mid or late October. Anyway it's an outdoor strain. And for the size, I've just managed her to finish a few times under 60 cm - restricted height issues, but for more yield I'll try scrog with her around the next week. I have a very nice untopped Maple Leaf in my flovering cab - just finishing her the last day of her 10th week by now, she should be ready the next week or around week 11, then I can move the sativa in.

Hi good brothers,

I'm glad to have found a forum where people experienced the Ethiopian highland

It's really a great sativa easly manageable indoor with a little practice. Two phenos, one more productive that the other. Some people find differences between the two about the high, but myself didn't notice it.

The high is deep and medidative, but still pure sativa style, no couchlock. It's honestly one of my favorite.

Here are some pics of my last grow, under 300W fluoros, with a flowering room of 60*60*1m.

Good vibes to all people there cool.gif

Great looking plants guys!

Rahan: How much did you yield on your fluoro grow? I would really like to get this strain for a similar grow. And one more question, how much does it smell while growing?

I have been looking all over for these seeds but they seem unavailablenow, does anyone know where I could order them from?
Thank you for your help,
Sincerely,
Limeygreen

Hi limeygreen,

the problem is that I never check the weight of my harvest. However, I can give you an idea: I filled only one of these tea box with the harvest of 4 ladies.

I don't know where you could find some seeds of Ethiopian. I believe that seedboutique still has some old seeds and also a spanish distributor but can't remember its name.

You could also check german seedsbank, I remember that one of them used to distribute african seeds.

Hope that helps wink.gif

Rahan: Thank you very much. That helps plenty and I'll see if I can find the seeds and if so I'll post where they are.

The plant has really a classy high. Try the outdoor mix from African seeds. You'll notice when you have found one. guitar.gif thats a cheap method and you'll get some nice other strains along the way. I have one keeper and she produces way more cuttings than I can use. They root under 10 days. I've heavily pruned back my motherplant and she's still doing very nice, nicer than before - almost 6 month old. Currently I'm floweing one with the SCROG method - quite difficult, because the stems tend to snap very easily, but on the other side it doesn't matter that much, the plant seems to be used to it. I'm up with some pictures soon.

Smell issues - almost not there.

Anyway, this plant seems to be adapted to some broad temperature ranges, if it is cultivated outside in Shashemene. eek.gif [attachmentid=71468]

I'm searching for African seeds dealers so much. African seeds is by far my fav. seed company. Unfortunatly, the outdoor mix only contains durban poison swazi skunk and swazi red beard. Please if anyone knows where I can reliably order seeds It'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you

mine came from the outdoor mix, maybe they do a different mixture now. When I bought them, the Ethiopian Highland was available as a single pack as well. wink.gif

These seeds are a random selection of the finest outdoor beans from African Seeds. Cant decide which on to go for? Well now you can grow them out and pick your favorite. Also adds a nice variation to your harvest. A great choice for the undecided.

The EH seems to be currently out of stock, but this doesn't mean, they're not in the pack. Normally random selections are generated by accidents as I've been told.

This translates to - Considered finest in the world by governing the Zauditu Empress and Evenness Tafari who became Emperor Haile Selassie this pure sativa comes direct from the old Earth of Ethiopia in which we create is a first world. Cultivated and produced by his last followers of the day in the city of Shashemene this sativa it grows well to the altitude and in fresher climates. I typically bring forth the long sativa with visible drops of the resin that provide clear an energetic stop. The plants are shorter, threw branches and more dumpy than high the thick types of they african of the south. Also it must do well inside but not totally still trialed.

Hope this can help yinyang.gif

thanks for that translation...but all I need to know is how to contact them. Thanks again.

Still no luck finding any seedbank who has them, hopefully someone has found something out by now?

I guess they're still in the outdoor mix.
aventinusdampf
The high btw. - I'm just having some oldtoker.gif , flowered for 75 days - is probably best described with: perfect for a long summer day.
aventinusdampf
Sampled some new stuff of this strain at day 70. It was perfect for me. But when looking closely I couldn't spot any amber trichs only opaque maybe yellow. I'm not that good in spotting them anyway, still have to practise. yinyang.gif Normally I judge harvest time by the overall look of the plant and the hairs.

So anyone experienced similar things with this strain. How long let you go them? I let her go usually for 10 weeks. The last one with 75 days in flower was almost a bit too long comparing the high for my taste. I do appreciate some body stone as well. For that I have my knock out indicas.
Any inputs?
Any inputs on different landrace sativas indoors - they hardly get any amber trichs at all as I've read here.
aventinusdampf
Oh, btw. for those who are looking for seeds. 13.gif

google Ethiopian Highland in pictures and click on the pictures of the plants. You'll arrive at online shops that sell them.
