Hi folks
thought I'd share a revelation with you. I've often read that cannabis can help asthmatics but I was always very sceptical.
I was always a boarderline asthmatic & when tested about 3 years ago, my lung capacity was about 370 on the breath test meter at the asthma clinic.
Today for the first time in 3 years (coz I hate the ruddy nurse), I went to the clinic for a checkup & had my breath tested again.

'Have you stopped smoking cigarettes?' she asks
'Nope, still smoking 40 a day.... why?' I reply

'You seem to have increased your lung capacity well above what you should have for someone of your age' (cheeky bitch!)

My lung capacity on the test this time was 580! RESULT!

Conclusion:

Toking an oz+ a week can seriously help your breathing!!!! guitar.gif

i was once told that mj will eventually cure asthma, where the inhalers open the tubes for a short period, the close completely, but mj open the tubes and they dont completely close. i also have heard that asthma is one of the drug comanies big money makers world wide. and i think its a big problem the biggest barrier against legalisation, the drug companies cant make money from it. and oil,i also hear its a threat to the oil industry. who will go against them polical death..

As the mother of a son with asthma I would be thrilled to be able to swap his growth stunting steroids for some nice clean herbal inhaler.

But he's only lickle and I would be arrested.

My brown inhaler was attributed as one of the possible causes of my osteoporosis some years ago... after treatment and no more brown inhaler it's settled down to a mild osteopinia!

Had I not been using it at the time, I might still have most of my T8 vertebra left, instead of 78% of it being crushed into tiny fragments!!

Then again, had I not been taking a jump wrongly on a Tarmac BMX track I wouldn't have crushed it at all... but I still blame the brown inhaler!!!! doh.gif

well i can say for a fact that it does help ...........I have had asthma all my life and have found that it does open up your lungs .you see,as far as i know, cannabis is a stimulant.Any asthmatic knows if you run out of inhaler you can drink coke to help open your bronchile tubes relax but i preffere cannabis as it works even better than that.

its been known for a while and as far as im concerned it does help and it is good to. yinyang.gif

Ive had intermittent trouble with breathing - GP once gave me an inhaler for emergency as it got really bad once when I was cycling and I couldnt breathe out properly.. I blamed bananas at the time.

I know my breathing goes skewey when the IBS plays up - and I cant figure if it IS my lungs or fibromylagia in the torso muscles restricting it. Those two little bassas enjoy a good fight with each other.

I had a go at one of those lung test gadgets which see how strong your lung function is and mine was a bit low - but didnt fit the pattern of asthma according to the nurse. Ive still got it tucked away.

On occasion I have felt cannabis ease the tension out of the torso muscles, or the digestive system, things get moving again, my nose clears up, have a good sneeze and breathing is easier. Sometimes its low in the abdomen and sometimes higher up.

Still havent pinned it down, but think the serious attack I had a while ago which prompted me to see the GP was at a time when I was without MJ - draw your own conclusions. as usual the fibro confuses everything for me and nothing is clear cut.. apart from canna helps all of it a little bit.

sage is meant to be another good erb for breathing isnt it?? and MUST help with the munchies, the association with sage and onion dinners! mmmmMmmm

What is the best feeling though is when you FEEL it doing something, and its so clear to you and then you get to stick it to the doctors!! Keep on reporting how much cannabis helps so many problems and they'll keep taking note and keep goinfg "hmmmm" until they all have the same eureka moment and tell the govt "hey you know what will save us time and money.." The change of medical cannabis laws wont come from the public (I believe) it has to come from within, the govt and medical establishment have to feel its THEIR idea.

Whoo - where did that come from - pass the lemon tea..
