No, I don't have the space so hang mine overhead.

I only go as large as 11litre square pots.

Me too, but unfortunately I am constrained by lack of space. So mine are not so much trees.

I am not too sure all those nutes and compost mixes you list are fully organic, I do know some are, but haven't heard of some of them. wink1.gif

Will be interested to see how it goes for you, hope you start a diary and get some pics up as it goes along wink1.gif

The lighting is def over kill eventully theyll be 600 hps. The jury is still out on pure blend pro. Their website claims 100% organic. Meta K is made by Earth Juice which also claims 100% organic. The budsel and super tea is made by the guana company which of course has three different guanos in them. Didnt know about the guano situation till I checked this place out. I will be switching over very soon excl.gif This will also be TOLD to the rest of my fellow unschooled americans. Any Ideas on a replacement for guano besides bio-bizz?
This is a medical marijuana garden that allows for 3 flowering plants at a time so sayeth our Colorado State Supreme Court. This is why tree growing would be ideal for my situation in the states .As far as pics go.............not so much..... Overgrow and Cannabis World have beed seized by the new Canadian Supremes. I sure this is old news by now and if it isnt DO NOT TRY TO CONNECT TO EITHER WEBSITE.

any other advice or links on indoor trees would be much appreciated band.gif
what can I replace my guanos with besides biobizz products?

Here are a couple of threads for you to have a read through, that I think will be of great help to you. Some lovely examples of indoor "trees" smile.gif

click me

and me!

About the guano, well not too sure what is a good substitute for it, but I can definately recommend you add some sort of mycorizhal fungi to your grow medium, have a read of the "soil secrets" forum as it has more info on it. There is also a huge thread in this forum about innoculating with fungi and it's organic.

Some members make a comfrey tea as a form of feed, but not too sure of the details of this.
I may not be too helpful on what other products are suitable or available to you as I am aware the US has different organic standards than Europe.

I hope some of this is helpful to you.

Edit to add, just had another thought worm castings or "wormenhumus" are also good to add to a compost mix, but depends on how well ferted it is in the first place I think. Might be a bit of a substitute for guano. unsure.gif

EnigmaticOne- thanks for the great links any other tree growers out here ?

This garden will be set up a lil different...........Im a firm believer in vertical positioning of your grow lights. Just drop the bulbs (without the reflector) in between your plants. You get 360 degrees of intense light. This type of growing requires a max 1000watts per plant. So picture 4 plants set up in a diamond. Now you put your 1000 w MH in the middle of the diamond. Then you drop the 1000 hps in between the plants so your light will be in a square pattern. Does this make sense to you all !!! My scanner is bunk right now otherwise I would draw this out for you all. Do a google search on Krusty buckets or krusty freedom buckets ( KFB or KBS) he uses vertical lighting in his projects. He also gets 1.5 - 2 grams per watt...........amazing 2 pounds of one plant guitar.gif check it out

The Itinerant Shrubber
I'm growing some trees at the moment but I dont bother with pots -cant find any big enough and the only big ones are round - waste of space.
Here's a little invention of mine - get some strong rubble bags or garden refuse bags - same thing. They're just very strong rubbish sacks and just fold them up and tape them with a bit of gaffa tape to the size you want.Use the whole bag if you've got the room. I usualy fold mine in half which gives me the size of a large bucket.
If you're growing more than one tree, you can pack the bags together in tightly, just like you would with square pots. Cheap as chips too. I got 7 bags fo a quid yetsrday. smoke.gif
