Next year i'll be doing my first serious grow. I wanna buy two packets of cheapish seeds, so i can have more diversity in my grow.

I am growing outdoors on a geurilla site. I live in Lancashire, but am confident they will cope with the weather.

The thing is, i cant decide between these three strains.

TNR is very strong outdoors, but its also very huge but has huge yeilds.

Hollands Hope (Hollands Hoop - Nirvana Standard) is mould resistant and pest resistant.

KC33 - is a middle ground I believe, good yeild, good outdoors.

Which two do i go for? Or do I choose something completly different? It'll obviously need to be mainly indica, due to my climate but can any of you shed any light on my predicament?
MrBenn
Sorry Davey, never grown any of them outside.

Whichever you choose chances are they're gonna get pretty big outside so make sure you're site's not too exposed.
Generally you can't really go wrong with Nirvana genetics, especially at those prices...hey why not try all 3 biggrin.gif

Davey I have posted some pics of KC33 in the out doors pics. To keep them short they would need topping twice if grown from the start of the season. I think it would stay a bit shorter in a good open situation. The main thing will be does it stay free of rot at the harvest date and whats the smoke like? I'll report late sep early oct.

I don't know of an indica that is a goer in the UK. All the indicas that do really well in Holland tend to fall to pieces with rot in our climate.

cheers both of you - the spot i'm currently looking at is wooded, so the sunlight is very dappled, so i'm going to look elsewhere in my village.

Theres one spot i;m thinking of "The Ginats Chair". Badically, its a big feck off field with bushes, shrubs and a big stone chair in it. It's basically flat so it will get lots of sun, however its tourist spot so I dunno what to do. My garden is a pretty good spot, but parents wouldn't be too happy with it, dispite my dad being a keen gardner so I guess i'll keep looking.

Problem is, where I am all the remote locations are wooded, and all the best locations are touristy.

I found an old disused lime kiln (where they used to smelt lime etc) and I was considering climbing down the chimney into that, it wouldn't be too hard - but it wouldn't get anywhere near enough light to it.

**Shrugs**

So i had a look in Eves Wood, the soils pretty crappy, very thin, rocky top soil. Its all very damp and murkey in there. I went in on a GORGEOUS sunny day and it was dark in most of it, so that wont do. I'm gonna check the old quarry out soon, and its surrounding area (gotta cross over into cumbria. I hope i dont get raped mellow.gif ) to have a look around. Last time I went there I thought "wow, this would be great for a game of paintball, but it SHOULD be ok for a plant or 2, however the quarry is used to mountain climbing, so if i plant too close it'll get found. Damnit, so complicated. Also rabbits.

I'll errect some chicken wire contraption to keep em off, my logic being that if they are gonna be found, they'll be found with or without chicken wire so may aswell keep em as safe as possible.

Its so complicated is this growing malarky smile.gif

Oh, oldtimer - looked at your KC33 pics, very nice biggrin.gif, i'll have to keep mine as low as I can within reason but I wanna see one of them grow really high biggrin.gif. 4meter TNR monster would be good.

I cant decide! I think i'll have Hollands Hope (Hoop) as thats a good outdoor one and apparantly has a relatively strong high, so KC33 or TNR...

Is Bedofrdshire down south mate? If so it might not do quite so well up north here so I might go with TNR which might prove stronger outdoors. Or maybe I just buy all 3 - it'd save of postage and packing. Yes, thats a good excuse, it'll save postage and packing!

Sorry about the long post. I tend to ramble on when i'm talking to myself.

Woo! I'll also get the 10 free Skunk#1, which i'll sell. No chance growing outdoors here and I cant grow indoors. But my mate can... cool, he can grow em for me but i'll have to explain to him "you do NOT smoke the leaves, you let it FLOWER".

- Davey, in your debt

And remember to keep it a secret davey. Don't want any of us Cumbrians raping your stealth grow and leaving legionaires behind.

Best of luck mate, your gonna need it if you do a border jump!!

Davey they are a friends pics not mine i just posted them for you to see. I saw some KC33 grown in Scotland last year and they did well ok!

Don’t plant anywhere near climbers pitches most of them puff, believe me.

Ramblers and dog walkers are nearly as bad LOL!

Tips on finding sites. Southern edges of woods where there are fences to farmland often an area of nettles and bramble between the fence and where the woods start. Making clearings in the middle of large bramble patches can be a very good site, but it has to be a big clearing and all the bramble roots removed otherwise they will overgrow the puff plants., Prob with all woods, bramble patches and scrub are rabbits, slugs and snails you need protection for your plants. If there are Deer forget it.

Tip, two 1.5 litre clear pop bottles top and bottom removed and taped together make a good nursery and protect your plants from the rabbits. Dusting the entire area every couple of weeks with slug pellets will save them from snails and slugs.

JC nice avatar!

Also avoid Fishing holes, those little places where anglers sit and smoke vast amounts of dope.
Oh yes we do!
How else do you account for all that sitting and watching water go by?

Davey
thanks a lot all smile.gif

There are deer around here, but there are certain parts they dont go. How do you do the pop bottle thing, why tape them togeather?

I'd imagine you just put them over the place where you are planting... NO fishing areas near me (phew). I know some very brambley areas - but having cleared most of my garden from brambles over 3 years I know how annoying they are to eriadicate - i wouldn't want to use weed killer because it could leave residual crap in the soil to harm my babies sad.gif

I'll go for a walk later today again. Might dig my bike out to speed the whole process up.

Ohhhhh an JC, i dont mind cumbrians at all. I have no problems with them at all so meh smile.gif
