Has anyone had any experience with dual spectrum lamps? Sureley this is the answer to needing 2 bulbs? I can't help thinking there might be a catch somewhere........? Any info would be appreciated, Someonelikeyou.

If you mean a HPS with added blue spectrum?? If so, then yes.. thumbsup.gif I use a 400w HPS with 30% extra blue added and have no problems with it for vegging and flowering.. wink.gif

dual spec is ok but limits performence/yield
look at what you want to achieve and do some research on lumens
the metal hallides will promote even good quality veg growth and a good quality hps will do the same regarding flower growth
there are some cheap alternatives out there but i would not economise regarding replacement lamps and look to replace them every third crop (at least )
an alternative to the metal hallide are the envirolites or white fire tubes but they will be slightly slower in bringing your plants on compared to the metal hallide
just read pickle121 suggestion not tried it myself but its worth considering

yinyang.gif Dual spectrum worked brilliantly for me, 250w hps and 125w blue EcoLight yinyang.gif
