hi, im struggling and need some help getting past the seedling stage. my recent batch of seedlings started to develop whitey-yellow patches on two sets of true leaves and seedling leaves. i thought this was natural for the seedling leaves but not for others. the plant was dead within a few days.i think i might be overwatering but am unsure. im also using a normal incandescent bulb to grow seedlings under before transplanting to hydroponic system after three weeks or so. can anyone recommend a better source of light for seedling stage and where to find one? any advice appreciated. cheers

That will do it to them. At least you were not feeding them too much 34.gif

Energy saving bulbs are cheap , availiable and can get them to a pot in some medium.
Blue spectrum for veg (18/6) - Enviro's.
I use a twin 18" Fluro's and the fittings from a fish tank to house them. Some thing like that would get you into compost.

I got a 2 x 2' fluro's in my kitchen I could pull out & use the fittings ......... the things you see. unsure.gif

Goodluck

i use a flourescant bilb screwfix direct(more lumins for your effort and i let the seedlings go a week or so without water untill nearly dried out but not wilted they seem to do ok and according to a friend if planted in a pot deeper than 4" you increase the chances of the plant turning into a lady yinyang.gif
