in the uk around airpil / early may
its best to start them indoors and grow them for about 3 weeks before putting them outside
it gets a bit chilly

this should be in the outdoor fourum tho mate :S

After the last frost & depending how big you want them to become.

Ive heard from another site (Jorge Cervantes) your ment to prepare the ground in the autumn. And try planting after the last frost if you can predict it.
edit: The plants that is, they need aclimatizing and you could grow them before transplanting to ground so they ave an advantage.

Depends where you are in the UK down here germ inside end March plant out end April,plant out in May is also fine as the plants catch up anyway,after mid June time it leaves less time to veg but that could be cool dedending on your grow spot some of the plants posted in summer 2005 guerillas were germed mid April on plenty of time.Your crucial factors are the Autumn climate and a good drying shed!
