Nice bit of kit mate I have the model before the video one... and use it all the time. Hows the video look on yours ? If you dont mind me asking how much are they in the US ?

I use mine mainly with a cable on the stereo or with the I-trip - which IMO is th best gadget i've bought for years. Dont know if you have one but i've got a great mod for them which extends the range to up to 60ft.

It worked really well for me - can tune the house stereo into 87.9 and use the ipod from anwaher downstairs in the house. It starts to go if i go upstairs though.

That iTrip don't work with the G5 iPods BUT they have this Bit expensive but it does look like a good peice of kit.

The price of the iPod in the USA cost me $299, costs £299 here, that's quite a saving.

I also found some software called iPod Rip, very cool if ya don't have any backup and you lose yer library, it allows you to take yer library OFF yer iPod

My neice has a iBook I had lunch with her last week and I asked to see her iBook, she pulled it out and opened it up and BINGO, wireless connection very cool, we were in a restaraunt in the middle of Edinburgh, she tells me she gets connected almost anywhere she is.

I was in Skye the other week and my mate has a Powerbook, he picked up a wireless connection on Skye

If you've got an iBook, you've just got to get Airport Express for wireless broadband + internet radio through your stereo via Air Tunes. Ninety quid. 'S wicked

A mate just got a 30gb video Ipod and i cant for the life of me work out how to get a video onto it....

I 'added file' and selected the MPG file which seems to appear and play in ITUNES but when i sync up it comes back with an error saying it doesnt like the file...

Does it take MPG files or do they have to be in some other format ?

I did download some old Duran Duran, converted it using iMovie anyway it worked but wi NO sound I aint looked at it since, I will get you what I've found on it and see if you can get yer head around it

OK, here's what I remember doing, I take it you have a G5 or G4?

Have what ever ya want to put on yer Pod (Video or DVD) on the desktop, just soo ya can see if it's worked cause it will change in to a iTunes file.

1 Open iMovie, drag yer clip in to the top left frame, ot will take a few mins to import

2 Now drag it down to the timeline at the bottom

3 Up to FILE and then select SHARE, choose EXPERT SETTINGS and then click share

4 Another window has just popped up if you have followed everything, from the drop down menu you will see the option MOVIE TO iPOD, select that and that's it, it worked for me but NO sound!

I did see a post on another forum about someone saying something about no sound, I was about to throw it at the wall TBH I will look in to it morenow am all calmed doon.

P.S OK, just had a quick gander at iMovie and wayheyyyy, now I know why there's no sound, I never imported any

I just assumed when you dragged the clip of video it would import the sound too, apparantly not I'm fiddling wi it

I know what ya meen I bought a G5 iMac and they came out wi a new one 2 weeks later with the iSight built in That's life ehhhh

I get most of my Apple stuff from the USA, it's almost half the price

They're going to come out wi a next gen Powerbook in spring, I'm going to BUY my mates plane fare over and I will still save £500

no, you just need to encode the video correctly. Nero can do this, or there's a ruck of free stuff for Mac like Handbrake.

basically you just need to select the right encoding properties.

you need to convert videos to mp4 format before putting them on your ipod.. i use xilisoft ipod video convertor
