Hi peeps. I've had a good gander around the boards and I've decided I want to give NFT a go 13.gif

How many plants would I get in this tank and is that tank OK for a 600w.

Let me give ya the space size and maybe you guys can suggest what size of GT.

The space is 8x10x8 I have 2 600w in their ATM but am only using 1 of them smoke.gif

So what size of tanks and tray should I get for that space, cheers peeps yinyang.gif
StonedSkunk
High S2001.

With that sort of space you should have no probs with 12 plants in there at all.

Depends on how big you want your plants to grow:-)

Although iam sure you could more than 12 in there ( conservative guess)

I am having a 6FOOT W7FT HIGH 7 FOOT LONG GROW ROOM AND GET 8 FULLY GROWN PLANTS IN THERE ( INDICAS NOT SATIVAS) sorry just noticed the caps damn flu is knocking me braincell all over the place;-)
using wilma 8 pot system with a 70 litre tank.
running 400watts light.

Hope that helps if not blame the flu and not me 1 remaining working brain cell.

di ya have to use pebbles with the Wilma system? unsure.gif

cheers for the relpy yinyang.gif

Couldn't you fit a GT1000 in that space mate or do you specifically want that shaped tank?

so c-mon NFT growers, suggest some systems for 2 600w yinyang.gif

I got a GT100 table scotty. Its 1msq so perfect for 1 600w over the top and ya can get upto 20plants in each so im told. Ive yet to use it so im no expert.

First thing I noticed mate you have 80sq ft of space with 2x600w=15w/sqft 34.gif

The aim is 50w/sqft so imo you need to look at putting more lights in or make the growing space smaller to maximize your lights use. wink.gif

Then i would look at what set up to use. wink.gif

Its not much use filling that space with plants only to end up with airy below standard buds wink.gif

Just my thoughts on it wink.gif

after reading about I came to the conclusion that NFT was the simplest when using HYDRO, less hastle, and I could leave em for 2 weeks, those were my thoughts.

I've used pebbles, yuck didn't like em lol.gif I also noticed the 424 and the GT are popular, but am still open. Can ya grow ORGANIC in hydro? cheers mate....... Am just home so delayed replies folks yinyang.gif

I've only just finished my first NFT grow so am by no means expearienced, but have you thought about this My Webpage

I have this system with 4 trays under 2 600w HPS and im well chuffed with the results. As I grew from seed I had 24 plants in there till 12/12 when it went down to 13 and got 15oz of good smokable weed from that (not including all the trim in the freezer)
I definetly get what Owd is saying though some of my buds around the edges are getting towards the airy side so I think mines at the max for 2 X 600w

I had a look at you thread earlier this week 1eye.gif I noticed PD said they trays were on;y good for 2-3 plants, so that's 3 plants per ytay 12 plants under 1200w spliff.gif

Just seen answers on toping up tanks, I have a ballcock attached so i don't have to disturb the girls to much and if i am away the tanks never run out. It also means you get fresh water going in with lots of oxigen.

thanks for the replies and the DIY suggestion wink.gif am a lazy fooker lol.gif and my DIY is shit. I'm going to go look at some tomorrow, cheers yinyang.gif

Ere ya go Scotty a couple of pics as promised.[attachmentid=50615][attachmentid=50616] Had to put last nights remnants in shot to let ya know what I were doin last night wink.gif . Its a good indicator this is a low piece of kit Unfortunately though scotty here are dimensions.

Height = 24cm
Length = 1m 20cm
Width = 1m 7cm

Think its a bit big to get in innit. oh ya get all the pumps and spreader matting and stuff aswell.

So it looks like ya want either the gt604 or the gt901 m8. 604 is a bit cheaper.

It'll be sat on some polystyrene sheeting I've got on the floor m8. I aint got the head room for it to be any other way. Only got 6ft max losing nearly a ft for the tray means only 5ft height for me plants cry.gif . That loft conversion maybe happening sooner than ya think.

Just wanted to say, If your growing where there would be a problem if you had a water leak, do what my mate does, he grows in attic, go to argos and buy a cheap kiddys padling pool and stick your system in there. if it leaks you wont have water pissing through the cieling.

guitar.gif That's a great tip cause ave been worried about water coming through the ceiling lol.gif cheers matey, well worth theŁ10-20 quid me feels yinyang.gif

Mr.NiceGuy420
So you are going to put 12 plants in an 8 foot by 6 foot space? Seems like a waste to me but maybe I dont have all the details. I am a fan of Oldtimer1's way of doing things. He likes to go with 2 plants per square foot. The least amount of plants I put in a space is 1 per square foot and up to 2. So for one 1000 hps over a 4' x 6' space I was planning on 40 plants this time. I get about 28g each plant this way. Its a coco grow but isnt NFT suppossed to give you bigger, stronger plants faster?

I would suggest using a smaller area or packing more plants in. bigger plants will give you the same yeild as more smaller plants but they take longer to grow. I guess it depends on your strain.

Yes there are multiple options for organic hydroponics.

Pure blend, Pure blend Pro and BioBizz nutrients are all suitable for NFT. the only difficulty, that i currently have to deal with, is that BioBizz recomends that you mix nutrients every time you water or at least once a week. The nutrients will actually break down in the water over time, same as with any organic compound. EC and PPM are useless with biobizz, not sure about pure blend. Biobizz products are a dark brown color, pure blend is clear. You would also need and Isreali filter or put your filter inside a stocking with Biobizz, their nutrients contain some solids. BioBizz has great products and most people on this board that have used it, like it.

organic hydroponics is the new wave of things on the market these days but its nothing new.

hope some of this helps
