Yippeeeeee ! band.gif My seeds are up (first seeds in 12 mths).

Pics of my sprouted wee Satvias for outdoors during summer.

Ok amongst this lot this year are some "Purple Tai Satvia's". I'm hoping there is one here as it becomes pot luck for the seed I the got the seed all mixed up - don't ya hate that.
Nitramkram
some more .............

I also have got 4 quick finishers (50/50 indica/Satvia) out basking in the sun. Problem is that this is abioout a month too early that I put them out to aclimatise and they are on edge of flowering (white pistals and tight budage formed. This means only 1 thing - they will go in with my Chrissy round and new bulb in a day or 2's time

No M8 I grow in Sydney City area in my back yard (plot). I have an old terrace place in CBD area + spare bedroom, which is my indoor grow room.

Unfortunatly although there is alot of land here in Oz I'm a city urban deweller. I just in the last few months joined Oz stoners. I see you frequent the site as well.

Hi NK smile.gif

It's good to see you starting for the summer just as we're finishing here and they're four nice, tight wee plants you got going in for xmas thumbsup.gif
Nitramkram
Potted the wee ones up into pots and placed under one huge haloigen in the sky smoke.gif

They are loving it - 28 - 30 & very bright band.gif

I got a difficult decission to make about these 50/50 hybrids which I put outdoors. The went out too early and now r in full flowering mode. I guess I have 2 choices with these 4 plants.

1) Put them indoors iwith my next 12/12 round. Obviously being 12" - 15" tall the yield will be down.
this is not such an issue as I have a grow just abgout to finnish.

2) Keep them outside and hope for a male Satvia (no doubt I will get one) from these "wee ones"

I've potted 4 wee Tai Satvia's up into Coco & dirt.

One is racing alng and I am guessing it's a male 1eye.gif I won't mind this at all as I have flowering quite close some of my indoor females.

I am planning on crossing a male (hopefully) He is the one closest in the pic [attachmentid=51439]

With this one of 3 I have now flowering outdoors [attachmentid=51440]

I had a 'potting -up' day yesterday- I love my little back garden this time of the year. The lemon tree which I savagely pruned a few weks ago is showing signs of new shoots. I've got to pick up some 'Citrofresh' and give it a spray. I eat lemons fresh off the tree or squeeze it out into some cold water & ice cubes.................A good refreshing natural drink.

In my visit I did my 1st 'early search; of my garden and found 1 wee sprout. They pop up every year. guitar.gif I am sure that the MJ plans find the perfect spot to germ. This I left in the ground where it wants to become (I'm hoping male). It is the 1st rising for mother earth.

Along with 4 others seedlings I did my usual & filled the 2" pots with Coco. Gave them a little drink. They were all well today, after looking sad after the potup. I have found it useful to pot up in the shade.

No names yet - not sure if I will give them names.

[attachmentid=51836]

I take cuts and force flower the cutings in a few weeks time. Pick the "best of the croud" then wait till the selected plants clones are ready................This all take alot of time (approx 10 weeks).
Nitramkram
Just a quick update on my seedlings.

The grubs are a worry outdoors - no losses to date and this is my whole collection for this year + my indoor grows.

the "monster in the first large round pot is possibly a male (first up, racing ahead and beaten the snals to a height beyond reach) guitar.gif

The smaller sprouts in 2" square pots are about 1-2 weeks behind the others in larger round pots.

A somewhat boring time - especially when you have a crop eady to chop indoors.

Yea a "summertime vision" is forming.................. Scrog no.gif

That's a better thing to do indoors where is faster.......... & my last Outdoor Scrog suffered a tragic unprevental natural disarster (a 50' Eucaliptus tree fell on the net)........... offtopic.gif

I visited my backyard sprouts/plants. They have passed the germ phase and moving past 5 internodes (5-8 " tall). In the las few days .................. Lost the 'one' that poped up in the garden. evidence of the rouge cat (not mine -"he wouldn't")!

They are 'rocketing' and I've topped them. They looked a litle light on 'N' soz I bought some "o[z]-smocote' contolled release plant food - yep just looked at it - NPK = (15) : (5.2) : (10) Where they spoke in tablespoon I "re-converted" it to 'teaspoons' 1/2'ed he dose to a light 1/2 teaspoon per 6 mths. dam hope it's slow release. cool.gif

It was small round pellets, all sparkly and colour coded -----trippy red/brown ones Green ones and little solid wite ones - looks the treat.... I've not got this for breakfast, but it looks ......... whistling.gif

The weather has not been that kind to them yet. Bus each time the sun comes out and followiing 2 days after potting up they are moving out & up.. Won't have sexng materials (cuts) for a # of weeks, say 3-4 weeks.

OH ! it's for "Roses" & is 'superfeeder' specool.gif

I have 20Lt pots as the next & final pot on. I'll be gettng some compost (don't know the type yet) from 'Bunnings' this week. So, in 2 weeks I should have some better weather + decent mix with sunshine & 35 deg cel days. guitar.gif

I have topped these at the 4 - 5th internode. There is 6 plants in total (unsexed). I'll be taking cuts and rooting them soon (2 more weeks), putting them strait to 12/12 for sexing.

These don't like to be fed too much so I picked up some "Dynamic Lifter" (NPK 10:2:6) & some "Fish Emulsion" (NPK 9:2:6). I am yet to give these any nutes. I will await signs of them running low 1eye.gif

I have potted up into some cheapo compost got 'Osmocote', fish emulsion, & dynamic Lifter on standby - will be needed in 5 - 7 weeks for flowering I presume yet they don't mind being starved.

Nice garden you've got there. Lemon tree? Eucalyptus? Ah, get away you impoverished lot. wink.gif Looks absolutely beautiful mate. Wish I was there. We've got cold and wet. Where I live (Manchester area) the weather is crap! To say the least. It gets freezing cold in the winter, but rains (hardly ever snows except on the higher ground where I don't live) and in the summer, it's generally cloudy but dry/wet. Sometimes the sun shines! (Well, it's not that bad, but... there are far nicer places in the world). (and worse, so I shouldn't complain). But how lucky you are to be growing those sativas outside in your back yard. Good luck with them, hope they turn out well. stoned.gif stoned.gif stoned.gif

QUOTE
dd .........Nice garden you've got there. Lemon tree? Eucalyptus?

The huge Eucalyptus has gone and the many birds didn't come this year. the weather has moved to full summer wth the next coupple of weeks being optimal growing time (veging). I picked up some "el chepo" potting mix ('Reliance' brand - Kmart/Woolworths for 3 bucks a bag). I know this is shit by the price and due to 2 weeks and a lot of rain it is terribly short of Nitrogen with yellowing of the lower leaves far to early.

Remmidy is to repot with in 4 max (if they dont survive well then earlier) weeks to a nice N healthy mix.

I don't have a clue what is availiable here in Oz. I've heard the brand name "Seals" or something like that.

How are the plants doing.

Well they are 2-3' ish tall (1 single cola untoppd & unsexed, 1 huge male, 1 infemale in 12/12, 2-3 females outdoors needing some better food (medium)2 other suspect plants. The one I picked as a male was spot on. I have had to back up the proposed mum with an altrnative as the selected mum has gone along time in full flower mode. Unfortunatly the the strain I selected for the mum dose not reveg well at all - next to impossible even with the big light in the sky for light.

I have identified most of the plants & taken 1 female to flower early upstairs and indoors for 12/12. I have also taken cuts from all plants. This is is were I stuffed up big time. I did not lable them

The pest problems outdoors has remitted somewhat with the onset of dry weather. 'Green grubs' were the major problem. Daily inspections helped remove them (not before they got heigh as a kite !) taking out 2 -3 large shade leaves in no time. smoke.gif Lucky the growth rate beat the snails so with those 2 competitors out of the way it was onwards and upwards at a phenominal rate. I estimate the growth to be about 2 sets of leaves per 24 hrs - 2" (Ideal Scrog plant). 1 set would be fully extended and opperational with the secnd almost out right behind it. Each ending up the size of my hand & fingers outstreatched.

I will have a new camera within 2 weeks so some better quality pics on my next post. I'll do some pics of the size of the leaves and the plants in about 2 weeks or so

I have no access to get a decent compost...........the luxuary of getting JI #1,2, & 3 cry.gif

I have searched the garden centers, hardware stores, here & there - but to no avail.

So I going to have to make my own. wink.gif I have worm juice, dynamic lifter (liquid) ferts, seasol & as a last resort some dreaded osmocote. as a base I have some blood & bone and today I grqabbed a coco brick and tommorrow I will get a 2xbags of "Coco - with neem"

Next week the females should all be pottted up into 25 Lt pots.

IDEA :
Now, out in my yard I have a rear wooden fence (Group pic rear wooden fence & some plants) wich gets light on it most of the day. It's a perfect place to put 1 female in a huge pot and a bit of trellis to train her along.

What do you think ?

The outdoor Satvia's are a picture of health ....... I have them in 25 Lt pots & thats where there going to stay.

The compost I got was 'shit' so I have been adding Blood & Bone, 'dynamic Lifter - concentrate', fish shit (emulsion) & a teasppon of slow release 'osmocote'. It seems to have fixed the far to early N deficiency.

They are so nice and green. They are in for some real sun in the next 4 weeks.

I can see this was - I am saying "was" to be the male I had selecteed as the polland giver to cross with my 50/50 Oz Hybrid. . . . . I am thinking it has far too much streatch as in this 37 C day it is going sky wards @ a rate of 2" per day now - I only have the possibility of a selection of 1-2 other Males. I am uncertain of the sex at this point & susp2ect 1 of the 2 of being aa giant female. You wouldn't think that is a problem however @ 5 now with 8 - 9 weeks of veg to go I may chop the one in the pic. If it gets to 7' it's going as that is the height of my fence ! 34.gif

Well you may have heard that global warming is comming to Oz and a place near you.

The wheather has coold down to be real funguus weather he last week. 22-26 days some sunny periods which the 'trellis Girl' (& others) love. I am not complaining, my plants are veging nicely.

I noted on Oz stoners form peeps were complaning about there outdoor Indica strains springing into preflower mode following 4 -6 days of overcastweather. I had a few outside and they turned somewhat too.
I had them lined up for 12/12 any ways, so they were quite primed.

OK pics on 2 consecutive posts with the star next:

Both side by side : [attachmentid=60146]Male (polland giver)

The male is in 15-20 Lt pot and is a little root bound. I don't have any larger 25Lt pots (biggest in my selection) and putting it in the grownd is not an option (neibours don't want a tree - a green shade tree at that - up hangiing over the fence. They do a bit of entertaining !

Anyway the male is to gather polland from then giljotiini.gif I could do the Yoyo thing and tie it down and that should ger me several weeks (wheather depending). wink.gif

They are some of the best looking plants I've seen in a long time. I love growing outdoors, but our climate can't match yours. My parents were nearly £10 poms back inthe 60's if only...

The leaves look huge as well.

Hope you get the proper hot run in to harvest.

You must be looking at otherplants if you think the leaves look "huge". they are in fact the thinest leaves you can get on a strain. They are an equatorial variety (strain) suited to hight intensity ultraviolet light, hence the thin foliage.

The buds are light and very airy weighing alot less that Indica strain buds. The heigh from the smoko is so different in that it is more cerribal rather than a full on body stone. I go a bit 'parranoid' when smoking it after summer and into winter.

Thanks for your coments TM. I don't quite know what you mean by "My parents were nearly £10 poms back inthe 60's if only..."

hazylights ...... looking really good now Nit, buds are coming along good.
when will they finish mate?

Unlike my indoor grow which I could tellyou what day what happens I can only guess they will take another 8 weeks or more. That's only a guess.

I think it was 5/1/2006 I germed. so about 16 weeks veging and then 10- 15 weeks 12/12.

I should have a good haul. I never grow for quantity. two reasons I do this mostly for.

1) the light is plentiful and free.

2) the stone is something worth waiing for. whistling.gif
