Well I started in April by buying a couple of supposed female seeds one of which failed to germinate and the other Durban something or other grew balls!

So....germinated 7 seeds bought off the internet for £2....I can hear the gasps but to continue..

Planted them out in May and just let them go. Too busy to give them much attention and have not even sexed them....more gasps!!

Grown in B&Q compost fed with ASDA outdoor plant food irregularly. Top of hill facing south on the South Downs I mile from the English Channel.

Still don't know where I'm going but to me they are all Princesses!!!

Though i think there is a problem with the pics. recently I have had problems where i have been thrown off by the server due to its current problems, when it was half way through loading the image.

When should I harvest?

Well I couldn't wait and cut one of my princesses! Sticky, smelly and dripping thc.

Pic 1 is the main stem and is 28 inches long with the biggest but 2 inches long.
Next is a close up showing the matured buds.

This is a small branch I cut 2 days ago and is drying nicely.

Does anyone have an opinion whether these are Sativa Mexicana? Bearing in mind the seeds were bought off ebay!

my mex buds were very brown/ orange at harvest . they were from sensi , so looks like you got a good sativa there bro .... ? what she smoke up like ?

i usually chuck a bud on a plate on a pan and boil her up for a quick hit .
you will know if it's mexican cos you sort of loose your head for a while .

Topskunk that second pic where you say mature buds aint ,it looks lig#ke bud rot to me dont smoke those brown looking bits ,not kind on your lungs.

Yup your right...cleaned the plant and decided to harvest it just in case it infected any of my other ladies.

Learned such a lot on this grow!

Good and bad...but still looking forward to a good crop.

my first grow was an outdoors jobby, its very difficult to grow outdoors n the uk though, specially if u aint got a green house, i veged mine outside for about 6 months last year as we had sufficient daylight from may/to october. then when they started to bud i brought them inside for flowering, worked quite well for me, and i found the buds didnt taste quite so outdoorsy. originally from portsmouth also on south downs so i know u get a bit more sun, now in cambridgeshire so have had to turn to full time indoors. what y ou thinkin for your next grow, al fresco again? or you gonna have a winter crop indoors

Yes I agree its difficult to finish the grow outdoors and I did start to get some bud rot which was thankfully pointed out to me by Ouncyboy (ta! ). Cropped seven plants over the last few weeks and the pic below is of the yeild from the last 4 ish plants.

Where the plants made colas the crop was good but there were a lot of small buds and outright air buds which took some trimming and preparation. However the good stuff smokes good and smells of lemon, spice and flowers.

Whilst I will still have an outdoor grow next year I will work a bit harder at it, select my seeds and look after the plants better. Probably concentrate on just 4 plants and go for larger colas by selective pruning.

In the meantime I will have a go at an indoor grow with 2 or 3 plants just to see the difference in quality and yeild.
