I'm on AOL (not recommended and not for much longer) when im connected to tinternet I get the above message it doesnt disconnect from aol but anything im doing it freezes or takes a long time to do.
most annoying is I lose my connection all the time to the server of midas player or other online games i play but stay connected to the net ????
Ive had connections checked by bt engineer says there ok after a faulty line check (I fitted all new wires) new filters on as well (broadband).
Ive tried all the stuff the aol techies tell me to do on the PC over 20 calls now all with different useless ideas but very polite.
Its just a stand alone desktop pc, any one any ideas its got me up the wall.

My suggestion is email/PM Binary.
His post are here, a search, at some stage, might give you a good clue.

Are you using an ethernet modem - i.e. one that plugs into a network card on your PC?
If so, you may well be having problems with that - that error message indicates that your connection with the network - in this instance your internet link - is being interrupted.
It could be a number of things - the network card, the lead, the modem. It could also be a problem at their end.
I wouldn't recommend AOL 90% of internet users dude. Get off there as soon as you can!!!
Much as it pains me to say it, my recent move to BT Yahoo (after problems signing up to a different provider when I left Freeserve after 8 years) has been a resounding success, and the package they provide serves me very well.
Gotta love Launchcast plus radio!

Check out bulldog, I signed up with them recently, got a 7 meg connection plus phone line for £20 a month for the first 6 months. But whatever you do, ditch AOL, they're the worst ISP in the world

Yes AOL are shite and it will be goodbye from me when contract ends. They're fucking useless they use a call centre in india and charge you for their fuckwit ideas, and believe me they are fuckwits very polite ones tho.
