thought i'd better add some pics of my set up considering all the helpful info i got thro this site !
i had a coupla false starts with some s***i seeds i brought back from the DAM, namely burning the hell outa them with too strong nutes !
i decided to get a coupla good books, & anything i could leech off bittorrent & do a bit of heavy studying !
(i wont name the books incase im stepping on anybodies toes, but just pm me & i'll let you know where to start.)
& after getting a PH pen, a TDS pen & a ec meter
( a bit overkill, but you should never underestimate how usefull these things are ! )
i started to get the hang of mixing up the nutes.
heres my 1st successfull attempt
after having the seedlings sitting in a heated propagator for 10 days,
( i only had 3 skunk #1's left so i planted a further 7 ice (ww HYBRID) + 2 CLONES
i moved them into a grow tent & put in 2 pl2 110w prop lights, i added a 6" desktop fan
which was cheap from B&Q,
the next problem i had was how to feed them as i wanted to grow using hydro ?
i still wasnt sure of what method to use, either NFT, Ebb & Flow or some kinda dripper feed.
so, instead of buying expensive trays & tanks,
i got a coupla 32" x 16" plastic storage boxes, & a small 20 ltr plastic box to act as the tank.
25mtrs of 4mm tubing, 2 mtrs of 13mm tubing, a 6way koi carp metal manifold, 2 packs of drip kits,
a good output fish pump & lots of gaffer tape & cable ties.

heres my babies in the tent getting 18/6 from the prop light.
after being in the tent for 3 weeks, i changed things about, i added another tray as things
were starting to get a bit crowded ! i took out the 2 prop lights, & added a 600w hps.
i also added a 5" ruck & carbon filter as things were starting to stink big time

heres were i ran into another problem !
because i'd had to re rig things, i forgot to check the timers !!! big mistake
my babies went without any water for almost 30 hours under the 600w light
( which also ran all nite long
)i managed to save them all, some of the lower leaves were bone dry & crumbled when touched
luckily enough, i had a 400w hps which was for a friend ( nea luck AL )
heres how i set up the feeders
before anyone mentions the colour of my feed ! i used some garden plant supports
from the local plant store which the dye ran thro the rockwool & into the water tank
heres some pics setting the tent up.
so, after being under the 400w hps for a week now, my babies are growing like FCUK,
1 of the clones is about 20", the other 1 almost died & is a tiddley 8",
the 3 Skunk range between 12" & 14", the ice on the other hand are all mostly 15" .

as for what nutes i used ?
i used half strength formulex after about 7 days of the seedling sprouting, increasing the amount every coupla days until full strength.
when i moved them under the pl2 lights, i started to use advanced hydroponics at half strength again,
slowly increasing the amounts every week, the plants suffered some magnesium problems
but sorted this out with some epson salts added to the feed.
same as with co2, i didnt want to go to the hassle & expense of buying a regulator & gas bottle,
so i opted for the cheap & cheerful way ! i got some co2 tabs that you can add to the water feed,
but after reading various things about these, i stopped adding them to the feed as they raised the PH
of the water feed ! now i only use them in a seperate water tank which is used for foilar spraying,
i also added a homemade fermentation kit, ie a 2 ltr plastic bottle, i ltr of water, half lb of sugar & some brewers yeast.
you make a small hole in the lid & give the bottle a shake every now & again & this releases some co2 into the grow tent
i'll update as things keep growing
