Hi all,
Stumbled across this earlier, its a streaming thingy with a few foreign channels on there, one of them is ESPN Star, which shows a lot of the premiership games. I've watched ManU today, and the Bolton/Villa game is on now. Think the Liverpool game is on later too. It's not ideal, and breaks up every now and again on my 2mb wire, but if you haven't got Sky, then check it out HERE

wants to install Chinese on ma PC

You can get by without it. The cast has a lot of artefacts, not sure what the stream speed is, but if you output it to a tv it softens the picture up and is very watchable. Also, the longer you watch it, the more stable the stream becomes. Let me know how you get on.

Been looking for summat like this for ages, but all the others I've found require some kinda subscription. S2001, if you navigate through the mirror sites you eventually get a save as dialogue box, then it's a 3.5 MB file, but REALLLLY slow, took me 20 mins, but now I'm about to sit down and watch Liverpool

I have recently found out about this and its a great service. You can buy all the info on ebay for £10 but its all out there for anyone to use, for free!

You will need broadband, I have 2MB line and it works great. Saw the Spurs game live over the weekend (more than SKY Sports show!) and great quality, shame about the Chinese commentry!

Coolstreaming is one of four I use. The best place to start is HERE as it provides links to all four services, plus a translation of the Chinese websites. There is also a forum which tells you where you can see what game.

PPlive is good, SOP provides a few PPlive doesnt and Coolstreaminhg is also good. Feiden Ive found to be most unreliable as its a new service.

I'll give the others a go. ESPN Star Sports on coolstreaming shows most of the same stuff as CCTV5 as far as I've seen, but it uses the English Sky commentary too. Do you know of any tweaking that can be done to improve the stream quality? I'm getting quite a lot of breaks now, seems fine when the ball is dead or during the commercials though

Dont know about setantanta sports but there is often talk of where to find Scottish football in the forums of streamsports. And if not ask in there yourself, they are usually pretty helpful.



Havent seen much about cricket or rugby really. But that may be because I aint intrested in seeing them. Again I would try the forums and see what they say.

PPLive is a must for footy fans with broadband (1mg+ connections and you'll have no probs streaming), ive been using it for a while now.

If your confused with all the chinese stuff just download PPLive. (It may ask if you want to install a language pack, dont bother and you'll be ok.)

Once installed, start it up, then.........

Todays matches can be seen here at the Daily Live Schedule. Just click on the RED links in the channel list and wait for windows media player 9 to open.

IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO CONNECT, maybe 2-3 minutes sometimes. But once your connected its great.

Almost every match has english commentators, ive heard Martin Tyler and the ITV one (cant remember his name).

Watched the Wales V England match on CCTV5 yesterday. Had oriental commentary, but at least I got to see the match (I think it was live on S4C but I can't get that down here). So far I've watched all Liverpools premiership matches (for what that was worth ), our final champs league qualifier (all with English commentary) and the world cup qualifier. My tip is to tune in to the channel you want about half an hour before kickoff, that way the stream will have stabilised by the time the match starts, and then you'll have no stutters during play.

You know if i download the chinese language pack will it mash up my Internet explorer???

No it just sets chinese language as default, if you do then just open up pplive and right click on pplive icon in taskbar >switch language then you get english or chinese.

Also on the subject of English commentary....i think you'll find all ESPN matches have english commentators.
