Couldn't find a section specifically on phototgraphing under HID's in there, though it may be in a section on white balance, but here's a tip. If your camera has a setting for 'white balance', and it's adjustable, set it for Tungsten, or even better, sodium if it's got it, though it's unlikely. The tungsten setting will compensate for the orange tint HID's have, and your photos will come out looking more like your eye sees them. Even better if you can calibrate the white balance manually, focus close up on a sheet of white paper held near your lamp, then the camera will automatically adjust the white balance to the optimum for you. Just don't forget to change back when taking photographs in daylight.
