Hi Nitromanuk,

Welcome to UK420.

All the info you need in right here on the forums just have a search and all will be revealed to you.

If you want to lower your Ph then yes phosoric acid is the stuff you need.

any chems or equipment you need should be able to find them in the uk420 shop mate. Safe secure service all the time. check them out.

You could buy a book or two there are many about so its a case of having a quick looksee to see which is best for you.

i started off with the marijuana growers inside bible a good read and packed with infor ideal for the beginner and experinced alike, written for the open markey but does fous on usa market.

anyways mate have a search around the forms and ask away if not sure.

All the best

Hi there and welcome to UK420.

High pH does not mean using nasties like phospheric or (even worse) nitric acids.

Using these acids can alleviate one problem, but can cause others.

Get a little heavy handed with the acid and you can find other issues rearing their ugly heads, (phosphate & nitrate overloads for instance), which will taint your weed and make it burn unevenly, and also leave a metallic tang on your tongue.

You could try using a safer option such as acetic acid, which is readily available in its more common form. Vinegar.

A pH of 7 is not particularly high. My tapwater is off the scale at 8.7 and even I was able to pH down with vinegar.

Pure lemon juice is another safer option. Either out of them silly little plastic lemons, or even better, straight out of a fresh lemon.

Squeeze a lemon or two into a jug for more control of how much pH down you add.

If you get a little heave handed, you can pH up a bit, just by adding some more water.

I don't suffer the trendy "anti-chemical" thing that a lot of growers seem to, but if you can keep things as natural as possible, thats a good thing isn't it?

Good luck with the grow!

If by soil you mean compost I wouldn't be bothering with any pH malarkey wink.gif

Many thanks for the advice Red dragon I will have a play with the lemon/vinegar theory,
As to medium its a compost from autopot called Autococo, contains 90% coco and 10% nutrimate ive mixed this 50/50 with clay balls in 10 KG pots.

Welcome nitromanuk.

I would agree with G-Whizz. Use a decent compost and you really should not have to bother with pH issues.
Personally, I use J.Arthur Bowers John Innes No1 for seedlings and JAB JI No3 as main compost. No Perlite. Westlands' with added John Innes is another decent, readilly available compost.
My pH using JAB JI No3 was a pretty consistant 5.8 throughout flowering using BBz nutes.
Hope this may be of some assistance.

I use Coco cior and occaasionally hydrotron (clay pebbles). These 2 mediums have good water & nute retention smoke.gif

I don't have to down my PH as the Coco A & B nutes get it down to the right PH (veg 5.8 & flower 6.2) & EC for me (1.8 - 2.0). I do have the chemicals if rquired to achieve my veging & fowering PH. smoke.gif

Happy growing M8.
