I want in my heart to give up on drugs. However, the mear thought of it is scary. The ordinary world is scary. I can't go one day without "what buzz can I get today." feelings. My usual response to this is DXM Alcohol and Cannabis. When I do these substances I get panic attacks and swear never to do them again. I then wake up the next day with the same old thoughts. "What buzz can I get today."
Now I am on Anti-Depressants and other meds. Citalopram, Olanzapine and Beta Blockers. So I knoe I should not be doing rec drugs. I just find myself looking for a buzz all the time.

I guess my question is, how can I forget drugs and move on. They were once such a powerful thing in my life which I enjoyed. I don't enjoy them anymore, but I just keep chasing the old buzzes.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

with pyschotic disorders and depression, it might be a good idea to lay off the booze and dxm if you can, and if you get a bad reaction to pot, the party's over, imo, and its time to look for things to replace the time you would have been getting wankered.

good luck chris, whatever you do. smile.gif

have you thought about only having 1 recreational drug at a time...... smile.gif
cut out fags, booze and dmx, grow your own weed and get plenty of fresh air in your lungs with country walks....... thumbsup.gif
learning to appreciate the little things in nature can be a real buzz, and you dont have to be stoned,(but it can help lol.gif)

jobs a good'un.......... wink.gif

I absolutely agree with this chap.

I never had a time as bad as yours, but alcohol and pot did start to do me in a while back.

I gave up smoking completely 2 & 1/2 years ago and cut right back on the drink.
I started to get pains in my lungs when breathing (and i did that a lot) So that was it, sparked a rollie up one morning, nearly lost me breakfast from heaving stubed her out and that was it, I carried on smoking spliffs for a while but I started to get paranoid easy (probley from smoking too much) time to make a change in me life. I started surfing and swimming to try and get myself on the mend and take my mind off smoking and drinking ( when you find out how unfit you are when exerzing at 27 you dont always want to go back to the way it was. This year 2 & 1/2 years after giving it all up I thought I'd do a small grow for a hobbie and the occasional none tobacco smoke, I now go to holland a barret for me farmers herbal tobbaco(witch actullay has no tobacco and no nicoteen in it) The plus thing I guess is that I have no addiction driving me anymore, and smoking me weed is far more pleasureable.

Its far from easy to give that shit up, but if you can find something to take your mind off it and do something else, after a couple of months your wonder what the fuck you'd been doing to your self.

hi chris

when your on a low its very easy to turn to something that you remember once giving you pleasure. whatever it may be.
this unfortunately isnt always for the best as circumstances may be different each time.
this then puts you on a rollercoaster journey in search of that great release.
it aint there mate UNTIL you tackle whatever it is thats troubling you HEAD ON.
once you've done this and i hope you do, you can then begin to start enjoying life.

hope things work out for you any way.
